Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum Review

A few months ago I won a bottle of this highly advertised skin tone correcting serum from Origins Facebook sweepstakes, and immediately started using it because I’ve been battling skin discoloration and sun spots for as long as I can remember. I have never been obsessed with tanning, I’m just genetically predispositioned to hyperpigmentation from my mother’s part of the family. So, since I was a small kid I would always have to put on a generous amount of sunscreen every time I go outside, which is probably the only reason I still don’t look like a dalmatian.

Now, this is how the product is described on Origins website:

“UV damage? Post acne marks? Age spots? Before considering a derm or drastic measure, discover Dr. Weil’s revolutionary approach instead. Although it’s not the same as a medical treatment, 83% of those tested showed a visible reduction in the appearance of dark spots in just 4 weeks. It works so powerfully because nature’s radiant Rosa Roxburghii complex helps correct visible discoloration and quell irritation to help prevent it from reappearing. Skin stays clear, bright and luminous. For all its potency – it’s safe and gentle on all skin tones.”

First of all, my expectations were pretty realistic, I didn’t really dream of my spots completely disappearing after one week or anything like that. I figured this serum will help me brighten up my complexion and even out the skin tone slightly and it did just that; and here are my before and after pictures.

These are my personal 100% real unaltered results after about 2 months of daily use following the directions on the bottle: twice a day under your normal moisturizer. As you can see, my skin now looks a lot brighter, the pores are smaller, red patches that used to be more visible are way less obvious. I highly recommend this serum to anyone struggling with skin redness and post-acne scars – it will definitely help with those. However, it didn’t really seem to do much about the moles, but I suppose we shouldn’t expect the same miracles from cosmetic products as we normally would from more invasive beauty solutions. I will just probably end up removing those moles with a laser if they become too much of a bother later in life.
