Clinique Ginger Pop 01 Cheek Pop Blush Review, Swatches, Pictures

I rarely buy products without knowing anything about them, so when these Clinique blushes first came out I decided to wait until I see reviews from bloggers I trust. After reading a few and seeing the gorgeous swatches, I was convinced that I need all four shades, but my bank account said “Nope! You can only afford one” so I had to narrow it down to Ginger Pop, which was unlike any other blush I own at the moment. Looks like I wasn’t the only one lusting over it, because it was completely sold out at Sephora and a couple other online retailers in that shade, so I ended up getting mine from Macy’s. By the way, they have some of the best GWPs; I got a pile of stuff for buying just three little things! [see picture below]

Ginger Pop is a shimmery coral apricot, and like I said, it’s the only one of its kind in my collection. I normally wear my blush a bit sheer, and it gives me that natural flush with just a hint of coral. My husband who normally doesn’t comment on my “no makeup makeup” face [because he’s genuinely convinced this is how I normally look, lol] even complimented me and said I looked very pretty that day 🙂

And how can I even ignore the packaging? Or rather, the shape of the blush itself, since the pan is actually quite simple. I just love this little delicate flower, and unlike many gorgeously-shaped products, this one won’t smudge after a few brush strokes, so you can enjoy the pattern for quite a long time.

The formula gets my seal of approval as well, because not only is it highly pigmented, which will make the blush last close to forever [give or take ;)], it’s also very long-lasting. I wore it over 7 hours and at the end of the day it still looked as if it was just applied. The blush is technically finally milled powder densely packed together, however it doesn’t feel powdery at all. It seamlessly blends into the skin without setting into the pores, and the color is very buildable.

THE VERDICT
I seriously can’t get enough of Ginger Pop, I think I wore it almost every single day since I got it, and it’s currently my favorite blush. The formula is highly pigmented, blendable and long-lasting, and even the beautiful flower shape will be retained for a long time.

    • March 12, 2014 / 9:40 pm

I know right? It’s so unique and makes the blush look a million bucks, even though it’s just etched in the shape of a daisy and put in simple clear plastic case.

  8. March 12, 2014 / 10:07 pm

I was tempted to buy a few when I saw these blushes at Macy’s. Very cute!!!

    • March 12, 2014 / 10:42 pm

These are definitely some of the best blushes from all latest releases, Clinique did a great job formulating them.

  9. March 13, 2014 / 12:20 am

What a fitting name! I was thinking ginger before I read the name!

    • March 14, 2014 / 9:10 pm

Couldn’t agree more, Clinique sure named it correctly 🙂

  10. March 13, 2014 / 12:38 am

This is so gorgeous and I had to make the same decision and decided if I were to get one, it would be this color. I think I’d have to wait for GWP too, I should check if my Macy’s is running this deal right now. Love your photos! Makes me want it even more!

    • March 14, 2014 / 9:58 pm

Glad you decided to get this color, I think it’s the most unique shade and a hard one to dupe. And thank you, I’m sure it will look lovely on you 🙂

  11. March 13, 2014 / 12:53 am

I love that color. And, what a great GWP! Fun little treats all ’round.

    • March 14, 2014 / 9:58 pm

I know right? Macy’s is so generous with samples!

  12. March 13, 2014 / 3:58 am

That is a very pretty blush. And your photos are beautiful!

  13. March 13, 2014 / 1:13 pm

I did not expect the blush to turn out that great! It’s been ages since I’ve enjoyed a great GWP, so maybe I’ll have to indulge. 🙂

    • March 14, 2014 / 10:01 pm

I’m not one to be excited about blushes either, but this one is seriously a must-have. It’s a splurge, but it’s worth every penny.

    • March 14, 2014 / 10:02 pm

Kimmi, that’s exactly what I thought, but I’ve been using it almost every day since I got it and the flower pattern didn’t budge! That’s how densely packed it is, almost like a baked blush 🙂

  14. March 14, 2014 / 5:06 pm

This looks really pretty on you. Plus, I like the design in the blush…makes it even better.

    • March 14, 2014 / 10:02 pm

It is a very pretty design indeed, and thank you 🙂

  15. April 1, 2014 / 2:22 am

I keep reading great reviews on these, and I love reading that the design sticks around for a while. Of course, I need another blush like I need another nose…

    • April 1, 2014 / 8:01 pm

Psst: you NEED another nose, that way you can smell two flowers at once! Oh, and you totally need this blush, too :))
