Sometimes a scent sounds so good, you can almost recreate it in your mind! That’s what happened when I was introduced to Mission Grove Collection created for Anthropologie by Soap & Paper Factory. Made in USA in small batches, these products contain the finest oils and extracts like meadowfoam, borage seed, and jojoba, as well as carefully selected aromatherapy blends.
The collection includes six unique blends, aimed to care for the skin and stimulate your senses:
- Cardamom & Coffee – a stimulating blend of spices, geranium, and sandalwood.
- Clementine & Clove – a warm bouquet of freshly-picked clementines with a dash of cinnamon.
- Peppermint & Sea Salt – fresh and invigorating combination of mint and ocean waves.
- Fig & Honey – a refreshing combination of sweet, green, and earthy notes of fruits and honey.
- Madagascar Vanilla – an intoxicating and soothing blend of boozy bourbon vanilla.
- Sakura Blossom – a balancing and calming scent of apples, citrus fruit, and heliotrope.
While all of them sound amazing, I was most curious about Cardamom & Coffee collection, because I’ve been on a spicy kick lately. I received three products to try: Bar Soap, Sea Salt Scrub, and Body Lotion.
Sea Salt Scrub [$12 at Anthropologie] was the first product I tried from this collection. It worked well to exfoliate the skin, and didn’t leave it red, dry, or irritated. What it did leave behind was the enveloping scent of warm spices, eliminating the need for using any fragrance afterward. The scent lingered on my skin most of the day, or perhaps I just stopped noticing it after a few hours. Regardless, I was extremely pleased with the outcome!
Already having high expectations, I used Cardamom & Coffee Body Lotion [$12 at Anthropologie] the next day. The milky essence quickly sank in, leaving my body soft, supple, and smelling like heaven. I would say this particular lotion is probably best suited for people with normal, combination, or oily skin, because of its lightweight nature.
And finally, the Bar Soap [$8 at Anthropologie] made a great addition to my bathroom sink, so I could have an aromatherapy session every time I wash my hands. I found it very impressive that this soap didn’t dry out my skin, unlike many others, so I follow up with hand cream out of habit rather than as a necessity.
The packaging deserves additional praise: all of the products are wrapped in gift-worthy jars and bottles featuring unique designs and adorned with fancy wooden caps. I especially loved that colorful Ikat pattern from the body lotion bottle and might even use it as an inspiration for future nail art.
I knew that Mission Grove Cardamom & Coffee fragrance blend reminded me of something very familiar, but I just couldn’t put a finger on it. Then it hit me! This scent shares similar notes with my favorite Tom Ford Black Orchid, so now I use them together to add more depth to the bouquet and make it last even longer on my skin.
You can buy Mission Grove Cardamom & Coffee products at Anthropologie stores, and online.

I love the smells of both cardamom and coffee! I’ve never seen that combination in skincare before, and it sounds so neat. I love the packaging, too, with the wooden details. Sounds like something I need in my life!
I’m weak to pretty packaging, I think it’s part of the experience 🙂
