Hey guys! I’ve never done one of these before, but after seeing over a dozen other bloggers from my Bloglovin’ list share their roundups, I decided to lemming into the trend and highlight the most visited posts of 2016. I almost never look at these stats in my Google Analytics, but I know I probably should do it more often. A lot of experts recommend keeping track of your top performing content, because it’s a good indicator of the types of stories the readers would like to see more of. While I am definitely not aspiring to write purely for the sake of numbers, it’s always nice to see when your hard work gets acknowledged. Without further ado, here’s what you loved to read on Glamorable in 2016!
- FOREO Luna vs Luna Mini: Which One Do You Need? This was by far your favorite post last year, and I’m glad so many people found it informative. Now I must write an update including the miniature Luna Play 🙂
- Wild Iridescence – Pin That Went Viral. I was shocked to see one of my random nail polish repins go viral. So many people have asked me in the comments where they can purchase this color, I tracked down the maker and made a separate post for it. Looks like a lot of you found it helpful!
- Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System. I think getting this system to try out before the official release date is what pushed this post to the top of the search results on Google. Nonetheless, I get occasional emails from readers thanking me for it, so it’s safe to assume many of you thought it was informative.
- Luna’s Corner #4. This was a sponsored post for Purina, but you guys loved it anyway! It really shows that quality content will always be popular, whether it’s paid or not. I haven’t done a Luna’s Corner feature in ages, mainly because Luna outgrew her fascination with my stuff and doesn’t really photobomb my photography setups anymore like she used to. I should probably find a way to resurrect the series, after all she’s so photogenic.
- Lokai Bracelet Review. Now, this one is just bizarre! I wrote this review back when I just started this blog, but for some unknown reason it got really popular and started getting thousands of pageviews every month. Something went wrong during my migration to WordPress, and some of the photos got messed up during the move [including photos in that post], so now it just looks so messy and unprofessional. Still, it gets a ton of views, but unfortunately I don’t have the bracelet anymore to retake the photos, and the originals of the pictures in the post are long gone. Oh well!
- MAC So Select Lipstick Swatches & Review. I’m not a MAC girl and I rarely buy their makeup, except the products that I’m really excited about. Somehow, this review rose to the top of the charts on Google, even though I was definitely not the first one to write about the exclusive So Select lipstick shade. FYI, I still love it as much as the day I bought it, this is such a versatile shade and it’s a beautiful Fall/Winter neutral.
- FOREO ISSA Review. Back when I reviewed this $200 toothbrush, I never imagined my blog post would become popular. That was not a very favorable review, because the vanilla brush head the device came with did absolutely nothing for my teeth. Since they released the hybrid brush head that has two types of bristles, my opinion took a sharp 180 and now this is my holy grail toothbrush.
- What is an Essence and How to Use It. I was really proud of this article, because I worked my butt off to make sure it’s informative and well-written. I wrote it just in time before Korean skincare became mainstream, and right before Sephora curated their kbeauty section, so a lot of people flocked to this site to read about the brand new term. You should check it out, too!
- PIXI Glow Tonic Review. I am not surprised to see this short review among the top 10 most visited blog posts since PIXI’s cult classic Glow Tonic finally came to the US. This is not a raving review, so if you want to see a different perspective, you should totally read it 😉
- Easy Negative Space Manicure Tutorial. I was not expecting to see a nail art post among my most popular, but here it is! I do attribute at least half of its popularity to the fact that it has several thousand repins on Pinterest, which definitely helped drive some traffic. If you like the idea of negative space manicures, you should check it out. This technique is much easier than it looks 🙂
That’s it for my 10 most visited blog posts of 2016! I am so thankful that you guys take time to read them and leave thoughtful comments. Thank you for giving me ideas on how to improve my content, I will definitely strive to make sure my future stories are informative and insightful, just like your favorites above. Let me know what types of blog posts you want to see more of on Glamorable in 2017; I haven’t finalized my editorial schedule yet and still looking for ideas. I’m thinking of moving away from reviews, and expanding the lifestyle category to regularly include recipes and wellness posts. I’m not sure those are going to do well, but I feel like I’m growing as a blogger and as a person every year, so if I want to start including certain things, I should go ahead and just do it. Better an “oops” than a “what if”, am I right? We’ll see where 2017 will take me, as of right now I am pretty excited about the upcoming year and all of the exciting adventures it will set me on. Cheers to that!

What a great idea! Very interesting to see what was a big hit. I remember a number of these including the Foreo Issa review
These are all giving me more ideas about the type of content the readers like the most. Super helpful data!
One of my most visited posts is so old that it looks funny to me. Another is for a natural deodorant. You never know what is needed by readers. Your posts are so interesting and it’s nice to revisit them.
Thank you Marcia, I appreciate the feedback! And it always amazed me that some of my old posts seem to do really well, even though the photos are all misaligned and blurry,
The Foreo is fantastic! Loved your comparison.
Thank you! I remember thinking that someone might find the comparison helpful, when writing it. Looks like a lot of people did 🙂
I love looking back like this! I have consistently had my Clinique Redness Solutions Foundation review in my top 10, alongside my very first Jamberry review and a post about my rosacea and eczema. It is great to know what people are most interested in!
Definitely a great source of inspiration! I keep studying these “hits” to determine what works best for my readers, and the main thing seems to be the “helpfullness factor”.
It’s crazy how well nail polish and mani’s do on Pinterest! I think people really love to draw inspiration from them, especially seasonally and for holidays. I get some manis pinned where the polishes were LE and I think it’s just because people want to find a similar color. Pinterest is sometimes my highest referral for the month, even over Google!
That’s amazing! I don’t think Pinterest was ever my #1 referral, but it consistently drives at least 30% of all my monthly traffic, second only to Google.
I need to check my stats more often!
