3 Unique Sun Care Products Missing from Your Beach Bag: Institut Esthederm Sun Intolerance Treatment High Protection Face Cream, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Targeted Sun Defense Stick SPF50, and Guerlain Terracotta Sun Serum

I am a FragranceNet.com Brand Ambassador, but all product suggestions and opinions are genuinely my own. #FragranceNet

What beauty products do you carry in your beach bag? Let me guess: a big tub of broad spectrum sunscreen for body, aloe vera gel or some other after sun lotion, and maybe a facial mist. Those are all great and totally necessary, but today I wanted to show you 3 unique sun care products you probably never even thought about trying.

3 Unique Sun Care Products Missing from Your Beach Bag: Institut Esthederm Sun Intolerance Treatment High Protection Face Cream, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Targeted Sun Defense Stick SPF50, and Guerlain Terracotta Sun SerumA lot of you probably have sun sensitivities, in fact, most people do more or less. On me the sensitivity manifests with tiny boils no bigger than a needle hole with clear liquid inside and strong headaches. The headaches usually last up to 24 hours, and the boils take anywhere between 1 and 2 weeks to go away, but even though they aren’t permanent they sure are annoying. While I don’t think cosmetics can help with my headaches, I found a sunscreen that so far kept my skin from developing the boils. Institut Esthederm Sun Intolerance Treatment High Protection Face Cream [$66.49, available here] has SPF20, and while I normally wear SPF50+ I feel safe using this one on cloudy days.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?

What makes this cult product truly unique and different from all other sunscreens is the formula. Rather than relying on SPF, this lotion gradually boosts your skin’s natural defenses against the sunlight and free radicals thanks to UV inCellium, a patented compound that can provide moderate biological cell protection from the sun without any filters or sunscreens. See, this is not “yet another sunscreen”! While I wouldn’t recommend using it during the peak hours of sun activity between 10am-2pm and would advise using your trusted SPF50+ product instead, this is an amazing alternative that actually gives many people who are ultra sensitive to UV rays the opportunity to enjoy a day outside.

Next up I got something that you all have seen in the stores, but for some reason this type of product is just not popular enough. Of course, I am talking about stick sunscreens! I think carrying one in your beach bag, or just in your purse is absolutely essential. Do you reapply sunscreen after washing your hands at work? Instead of carrying a bottle of liquid lotion, a stick is way more convenient to use on the go to make sure your skin is protected from the sun. I keep Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Targeted Sun Defense Stick SPF50 [$13.29, available here] in my purse at all times, and always bring it with me to the beach and to the pool. I use it on my face, eyes, lips, and ears to make sure they are as protected as they can be from the aging effects of the sun.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?

The formula contains Eight Hour® Cream, making this stick a powerful anti-aging treatment as well as an amazing sunscreen. It smells like citronella, which makes this sunscreen double as a bug repellent. You know those tiny black beach bugs? Yep, they leave me alone now!

Last, but not least, we have Guerlain Terracotta Sun Serum [$46.89, available here], a luxurious honey-like gel from the brand’s best-selling Terracotta line of products that are designed to enhance the look of medium and dark skin tones, whether they are tanned or natural. Enriched with bark of the carob and candeia trees, this serum helps stimulate natural melanin production while also repairing and calming skin to give it sun-kissed glow without the sun exposure. Basically, it lets you get a natural tan without stepping one foot outside.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?

Terracotta Sun Serum lets you turn almost every cream, oil, body lotion, primer, foundation, sunscreen, what have you into a gradual self-tanner. You also fully control the intensity of the outcome by adding more or less product. I mix a full dropper with my after sun aloe vera gel and apply all over the body to soothe the skin and make it look like I actually got some sun when it reality I wore SPF50+ and hid in the shade.

I’ve never tried any of these unique products. I burn easily so I rely on SPF for sensitive skin.

That Elizabeth Arden sun stick sounds great to me. I prefer a stick to a cream when I apply spf on my face because it’s easier to apply.

I can’t believe how sensitive you are to the sun. I burn in a second but nothing that severe. I like having a stick sunscreen with me too since I can use it on my little ones, the top of my husband’s head and on me.
