Red, White, and Blue Patriotic Nail Art for 4th of July

pr sample

Does your family get together for 4th of July? Mine does, and for the most part we express ourselves with red, white, and blue clothing, and some family members like to wear patriotic pins. As a beauty blogger, I always feel like it’s my duty to be extra artsy, and show this Holiday some love in other ways – through creative makeup of nails.

First of all, fun patriotic nail art couldn’t get any easier than with some press-on manicure, that already has beautiful stars and stripes design printed on it. I tried both The Collection Nails by KISS and imPRESS Accent Press-On Manicure to see how they compare, since press-on nails can be very different in fit, length, and overall feel.

All artificial nails in the kit have medium length, which was perfect to cover my natural nails, since they’re quite long at the moment. Each kit also comes with a tiny nail file and a manicure push stick to help tuck in any loose skin from the sides, and swipe away oozing glue, if there’s any.

I think they look kinda cool that way, and make my fingers look longer. Talons are still on-trend, right? I think the best thing to pair with cool girl nails is a bright lipstick, and I’m rocking here my favorite red [reviewed here]. Talk about fierce!

The nails require minimal care and were actually quite comfortable to wear; I forgot I even had them on after a couple of hours.

Don’t worry about damaging your nails – mine are thin and bendy, and they were perfectly fine after I removed the artificial ones. I just don’t recommend acetone nail polish remover all the time, but nothing bad will happen if you only use it from time to time.

The shape is nicely squared, and the design is adorable: I just love that combination of silver glitter, plain white creme, and stars & stripes in this kit, and would definitely rock it if my nails were shorter.

Right? They have some really nice ones for Summer! I like the bright orange ones with anchors.

I’ve used both brands. I have itty bitty nail beds, so I have to look for smaller press-ons. The ones you chose look so natural! Cute!

Thank you! They really do look quite natural when filed down. I’m very impressed with their wear and staying power as well.

They look really natural on you. I love that you filed them into an oval. It’s a great shape for you! My nails are boring today, I just have navy sparkle nails from the new FingerPaints collection. I do love the color though!

I like both oval and squoval nail shapes, but I feel like oval makes my short fingers look longer, so I usually stick to that. Squared nails always look great in photos though 🙂

Wow, I thought you had done the nail art yourself! They look natural!

Haha, noooooo, I wouldn’t have the skills for something that complex. Tape mani is probably the extent of my nail art abilities 🙂 They really do look natural though, it’s a step up from thick pink acryllics I used to play with in high school.
