Skipping April Starbox was a huuuge mistake! I thought I would unsubscribe because I already have way too much makeup as it is, but seeing everyone’s April unboxings and swatches made me super jealous and sad that I missed out. So, of course I re-subscribed again, and this is my slightly belated review of the May box. The theme this month is “Tribal” and our boxes came painted with a zebra print and lovely ethnic terracotta + gold tissue paper inside.
Actually, now that I think about it, I’m not too sure if I actually purchased this Starbox or if it was sent to me for reviewing. I was recently contacted by Starlooks’ PR rep with an opportunity to review some of their products, and I chose Infinity lipsticks and a brow kit (before I even knew what will be in this month’s Starbox). Since I re-subscribed on May 2nd it’s very possible that they sent me a Starbox instead of a singular brow kit, and I will eventually receive the Infinity lipsticks, too. So I’m leaving this post without a disclaimer for now, and I’ll update it asap when I figure out if I actually bought this one myself.
Update: I bought this, after all! :))

Brow Shader in BS3
This quad contains four colors to fill in and outline the brows. They all are very lightly pigmented to prevent us from using too much, which is a great thing. All Starlooks products can serve multiple purposes, and this quad is no exception: all of these colors can be mixed together and combined for sculpting the face, or as eye shadows.

Pigment Luster in Cinnamon Toss
This fabulous pigment has fantastic color payout and the shade is universally flattering. This particular color that I got is no longer sold on starlooks.com, now all of the shades have been renamed, and I think the closest one is Black Gold. Starlooks recommends mixing these pigments with clear gloss to create your own unique colors, as well as using them the traditional way for putting on eyelids as an all over color or as an eyeliner.

Cream Blusher in Emphasize (now Merlot)
I would have never bought this shade for myself, but surprisingly it looks absolutely natural and sets with a lovely dewy finish. These blushes can be worn as lipsticks, lip glosses and even on your eyelids.

Little extra – a nail file with a zebra print, and two full-face pictures using the products in this box 🙂
The verdict: Yet again,. a fantastic box from Starlooks and I got absolutely blown away by the quality of the products. As some of my fellow beauty bloggers said, we are most likely witnessing the birth of a cult brand. So in a couple of years when Starlooks gets big and popular, I’ll put on my hipster glasses and say that I’ve been using Starlooks since before most people knew it existed.
Disclosure: I bought this.
