Goodies Co. Taster’s Box Unboxing and Review: May 2013

I apologize in advance but this review is going to be fairly brief. I came down with a pretty severe cold a couple days ago so I’m having a hard time focusing my thoughts, thanks to a mild fever 🙂 I just didn’t want to be late to show you this month’s Goodies box, which was pretty awesome by the way!

Beanitos White Bean Nacho Cheese
For some reason I don’t feel interested in this snack, after unpacking and taking pictures I just threw it in the pantry for the odd chance my husband finds and eats it.

Bronco Bob’s Roasted Mango Mini Chipotle Sauce
Mmm… mango! When I get better I plan on chopping assorted veggies and mixing them with this sauce for an awesome side dish.

Numi Organic Moroccan Mint Tea
This little tea bag came just in time for my cold, since I have to drink a lot of liquids. I enjoyed the soothing minty aroma and the crisp freshness in every sip.

Sour Power Straws – Strawberry and Blue Raspberry
These things are crazy! I love how sour they are, because to me sometimes even pure limes and lemons aren’t sour enough. I really liked both of the flavors, but probably won’t buy more because they’re the epitome of junk food. They were really fun to try, though.

California Olive Ranch EVOO
Tossed my greens with it instead of the usual dressing today, and it tasted wonderful. I enjoyed the mildly fruity and buttery taste, and I’m glad to see that it has a reasonable price tag, too, so I can actually purchase more.

Kathie’s Kitchen SuperSeedz Pumpkin Sea Salt
Pumpkin seeds make a healthy snack, but I’m just personally not a huge fan of the taste. The quality was great, though, and the seeds themselves were well-roasted and not over-salted.
Overall: 3/5
Purchase: No

Zico Coconut Water
I like drinking coconut water from time to time in the summer, because despite the gross taste it actually keeps me hydrated better than plain water, thanks to lots of potassium. I wonder what the chocolate one tastes like 🙂
Overall: 4.5/5
Purchase: Yes

Wholly Guacamole Free Product Coupon
I’m usually not a fan of storebought guac, and always prefer to just make it myself, but since I got this coupon I might as well try it. Even if it’s not good enough for a dip, it’s still great as a sandwich addition.

Box retail value: $16.97

The verdict: To put it briefly, I liked this month way better than the previous two. The coconut water and the tea both have been very helpful in keeping me hydrated in these past couple days, and the sour straws are about the only taste I can distinguish right now. Now back to Mucinex, Kleenex and HBO 🙂

Are you a Goodies subscriber? What do you think of this month’s box?

Disclosure: I bought this.
