Glo Skin Beauty HD Mineral Foundation Stick Review & Swatches Cloud 1C, Bisque 2W, and Fresco 3N

Why I Love My New Glo Skin Beauty HD Mineral Foundation Sticks

I recently revisited a few of my favorite brands that I haven’t featured in a while, and Glo Skin Beauty [formerly glo Therapeutics & glo Minerals] was among the top 5 on my list. I’ve always been fond of their high-performance makeup and no-bs skincare formulations, so naturally, I was stoked to try the brand’s latest release – HD Mineral Foundation Sticks.

Glo Skin Beauty HD Mineral Foundation Stick ($48) is a 4-in-1 multi-use complexion product that can be used as a base, contour, highlighter, or concealer. The formula contains Hyaluronic Acid to help boost skin hydration and give it a beautiful natural glow. The foundation provides buildable light to full long-lasting coverage and looks like second skin.

Three of the lightest shades swatched on my cheek. As you can see, with a bit of blending they can all work!

Cloud 1C, Bisque 2W, and Fresco 3N blended to get the perfect skin match. Love the natural finish, too!

Glo Skin Beauty HD Mineral Foundation Stick comes in 12 inclusive shades that can be broken down to three shade groups:

  • Light skin: Cloud 1C, Bisque 2W, Fresco 3N, Sand 4W
  • Medium skin: Fawn 5C, Buff 6W, Mesa 7W, Chai 8N
  • Dark skin: Sable 9W, Carob 10N, Umber 11W, Ebony 12C

Each group offers one shade with cool undertone, two with warm undertone, and one with neutral undertone, so you can mix and match to find the perfect custom blend that is unique to your skin.

For my perfect match, I blended Cloud 1C, Bisque 2W, and Fresco 3N and the resulting shade worked really well, I couldn’t tell where my skin ends and the foundation begins! The color also matched my neck, which is how I usually pick my foundation. HD Mineral Foundation Stick felt creamy and had a bit of a slip to it, which made it easy to glide over bare skin. It performed even better over primer: the coverage was smooth and completely seamless.

WHAT I LIKE:

The obvious: I love how inclusive the range is. Even though it consists of just 12 shades, the skin tones are equally represented, so it’s not like there are 11 light shades and a single token dark one. I also like the stick format itself because it’s mess-free, convenient, and travel-friendly. Lastly, I am super impressed that Glo managed to take a typically drying product, like a stick foundation, and make it feel weightless on the skin, like a liquid foundation.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE:

Not a whole lot, actually. I guess the packaging could be better? For example, Glo lipsticks have these nice magnetic caps that are easy to put on and take off, so the lid stays securely shut when the product is not in use. The cap on HD Mineral Foundation Stick takes more effort to remove and put back on than I’d like.

BOTTOM LINE:

I haven’t stopped using my Glo Skin Beauty HD Mineral Foundation Sticks since the day I got them in the mail – they just make my skin look so healthy and nice. The coverage is adjustable and can be built up from light to full, and it will still look seamless and natural. The formula works wonders as a concealer, too, although I did need to set the undereye area with a bit of translucent powder to make sure it doesn’t crease. For the rest of my face, setting powder was unnecessary since the product didn’t budge or separate all day anyway. I think HD Mineral Foundation Stick can work for all skin types, even dry and dehydrated. I have a few dry spots on my cheeks and it didn’t cling to them or make them look more apparent. It also didn’t emphasize the enlarged pores on my nose and chin.
