NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tint Review & Swatches

When you’re a big fan of some brand, you usually keep an eye out for upcoming releases, right? Well, I’m super into NARS, and yet I totally missed the memo about the launch of three new Oil-Infused Lip Tints earlier this summer! These tints were limited edition and available exclusively online at Sephora and NARS websites. They’re all still in stock as I write this, actually.

The exclusive gel-oil formula is infused with Pomegranate Extract, Raspberry Seed Oil, and Vitamins A and E to soften the lips, provide lasting hydration, and protect against environmental stressors. It feels amazing on the lips and has everything I like about lip glosses [shiny finish, lips look smoother and feel healthier, a subtle hint of color] and nothing I hate [stickiness, heavy feel, unpleasant plasticky smell etc].

NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tint ($26) is currently available in 4 shades:

  • Orgasm – peachy pink w/ golden shimmer
  • Primal Instinct – light pink beige
  • High Security – bright fuchsia
  • Disco Infernal – a vibrant purple

I added two of them to my makeup collection – Primal Instinct and Disco Infernal because they looked different enough on the lips to justify owning both (swatches below).

WHAT I LIKE:

NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tints are glossy but not greasy-looking, have a comfortable slip but don’t slip off the lips easily. They feel more like a lip ointment than a traditional lip gloss, with an added bonus of a beautiful tint. Plus, my lips feel actually moisturized and comfortable when I use these.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE:

It’s great that the caps mirror the shade inside so you can store them upright in a container and instantly know what color they are without looking at the labels. However, those caps have a shiny, reflective finish which basically makes them fingerprint magnets, so the cap always looks messy unless you wipe it after every use.

BOTTOM LINE:

If you are like me and hate traditional lip glosses because they feel heavy, sticky, and gritty, NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tints will be like a breath of fresh air. That airy, weightless feel paired with a moisturizing formula and a subtle, barely-there whisper of color is everything I want from my lip glosses as a lip gloss hater. So yes, although technically this was a summer release, I am totally bringing my two lip tints into fall and maybe into winter, too, given they even last that long since I use them, like, daily.

All three new shades of NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tint ($26) are still available online at Sephora and NARS, but once they’re gone, they’re gone for good so grab them while you can!
