Farmacy sneaked up on Sephora shoppers unexpectedly, and ever since I spotted them on the shelves of my favorite beauty retailer, I’ve been super curious about trying the entire range. So far I got to sample their fabulous coconut gel masks and Invincible serum, and today I want to tell you about New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains.

Have you tried powder exfoliants before? Today I'm talking about new Farmacy Gentle Exfoliating Grains, with formula so clean you'll do a double take. Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorableWhile exfoliating your skin is not exactly a new concept, scrubbing grains and powders are still a novelty. Farmacy created Gentle Exfoliating Grains as a potent, all-inclusive skin care treatment, that cleanses, exfoliates, and purifies in one step to instantly reveal fresh, clear skin. When mixed with water, this grainy powder transforms into a bubbly foam that glides over skin with ease, pushing out makeup residue, dirt, and oil from the surface.

Have you tried powder exfoliants before? Today I'm talking about new Farmacy Gentle Exfoliating Grains, with formula so clean you'll do a double take. Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorableThe formula contains four key components:

  • Natural Cranberry Seeds – to deeply clean and lift away surface debris.
  • Rice Bran Powder – to brighten complexion by gently exfoliating the dead skin cellsand absorbing excess oil.
  • White Willow Bark, Carrot, Green Tea, and Marshmallow – to soothe, protect and calm irritated skin.
  • Echinacea GreenEnvy™ – to firm the skin and promote a more evenly toned complexion.

Ingredients: Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Powder, Citric Acid, Water (Aqua), Mannan, Phaseolus Angularis (Adzuki) Seed Powder, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Ascorbic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Patented Echinacea Purpurea ‘Greenenvytm’ Root Extract, Glycerin, Lactobacillus/Lemon Peel Ferment Extract, P-Anisic Acid, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Spirulina Plantensis Powder, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate.

Farmacy-Gentle-Exfoliating-Grains-review-02After running the ingredient list through CosDNA, the analysis revealed a near-perfect formulation that contains a single low-risk irritant – Butylene Glycol, which is considered to be a minor acne trigger. It’s always nice to see a formula this clean, considering how much junk we subject our skin to on a daily basis.

Farmacy Gentle Exfoliating Grains Review >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorableIf you follow a pH-conscious cleansing routine, then you need to know Farmacy Gentle Exfoliating Grains scored pH7.0 when mixed with water. For me personally that is too alkaline, so I will have to find a new home for this exfoliant, but that was literally the only con I’ve discovered so far. If you are not too concerned about pH in skincare, then you will most likely love this cleanser.

WHERE TO BUY: $30 for 3.5 oz. Available at Sephora, Farmacy, Sephora stores.

I just noticed Farmacy at Sephora when I was there on Friday. It’s on my “to try” list.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:38 pm

I noticed them mainly because of those wooden caps – so different and “earthy’!

  2. November 10, 2015 / 6:01 pm

I really want to give this a try!

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:37 pm

I hope you get a chance!

I like how different this is. It’s too bad that it’s not the right product for you specifically.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:37 pm

You know, with beauty it’s always YMMV, and I’m sure this is someone else’s HG product.

I am kind of into these powdered cleanser/exfoliaters, lately. I recently tried one by OZ Naturals that I like. And there is one by Josie Maran that I need a barrel of!

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:37 pm

I’m with you Erika, I’m really digging the whole powder-to-paste concept lately and bought a couple other similar products to try. I didn’t know Josie Maran had one of these, too; now I have to track that one down as well!

I’ve been hearing a lot about this brand lately and I always love the ingredients that they use in their products. I definitely want to try their products.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:36 pm

I agree, the ingredients always look great no matter which product I look at. It’s always nice to see a brand that cares about what they put into their formulations.

I love the TATCHA rice powder, it would be nice if this is a less expensive version.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:35 pm

I’ve been a TATCHA user for a long time, and their Indigo powder is currently my favorite. These powder cleansers sure are convenient, aren’t they?

  7. November 10, 2015 / 10:05 pm

I like the dermalogica microfoliant so I’m pretty sure this one would be a ht with me, too. Thanks for the review.

      You’re very welcome, Kim!

I’ve seen this type of product over and over again and i think it’s such an awesome idea… especially for traveling since you don’t have to worry about transferring it (not liquid, carry on friendly). So cool!

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:34 pm

I agree, cleansers in powder form are amazing for traveling.

  9. November 10, 2015 / 11:23 pm

I have used a few powder exfoliants, tatcha and Amarte have been my favorites. I’m curious about a few Farmacy products, so I may give this one a try.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:34 pm

Ooh, I heard about Amarte! Gotta try that one when I have a chance.

This reminds me of dermalogica and murad….

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:34 pm

It’s very similar to dermalogica, but the formula is gentler and “cleaner”.

  11. November 11, 2015 / 8:01 am

I really do need to check out this brand! Thanks for the helpful info, especially about the clean formula, and ph.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:33 pm

      You’re most welcome, Amber!

  12. November 11, 2015 / 8:47 am

Very interesting! I’ve never heard of this brand before.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:33 pm

They are new’ish, and you can find them on sephora.com and at Sephora stores. I really like their sleeping balm!

  13. November 11, 2015 / 9:14 am

I am using this and love it! Impressed by this brand!

I really love exfoliators like this. I haven’t used this brand before though – I’ll have to check it out

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:32 pm

It’s one of the newest brands at Sephora, but I can see them doing really well!

  15. November 12, 2015 / 3:53 pm

This brand has so many interesting products! I use a rice exfoliant from OZ Naturals sometimes. I should check the pH levels.

    • November 20, 2015 / 11:32 pm

Checking pH levels has become sort of an obsession for me. I definitely see an improvement in my skin’s overall appearance when I watch the pH closely.
