Skincare & Makeup Empties vol. 42

I had this small pile sitting around for a couple of months now, but with everything going on in the world I just forgot about it for a while. I already have a separate bin filled with March and April empties that I can’t wait to share with you guys – lots of favorites in that one! Today I am showing you the products I finished between mid-January and the end of February of this year.

SKINCARE:

1 // Herbivore Botanicals Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner ($39) – This was my last backup bottle and I went through 4 of them in total, unless I’m forgetting something. It’s one of my favorite clean beauty toners, and the only reason I won’t be repurchasing more right now is that I’m bored of using the same thing, even if it works wonders. I still highly recommend giving it a try – the formula is soothing and refreshing, and it smells absolutely heavenly!

Repurchase? I repurchased it multiple times. Still love & recommend it, but it’s time to try something new.

2 // su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick ($28) – This was one of my original k-beauty HG products and the very first low-pH cleanser I bought after discovering the importance of protecting and nourishing the acid mantle to prevent breakouts, irritation, and premature skin aging. There is a mountain of research that proved this, so I couldn’t believe that cosmetic companies were still making alkaline cleansers despite most likely being aware of the negative effects. For a quick second there, I even considered the possibility that they intend to ruin our skin with a cheap cleanser so we’d buy more of their expensive creams and serums to try to fix it. *takes off the tinfoil hat* But I digress… This is a fantastic product, nothing short of revolutionary, and it’s sold out everywhere right now without any information on when it will be in stock again.

Repurchase? I would buy one to travel with, but it’s sold out everywhere.

BATH & BODY:

3 // Scentbird Lucid Gold Silky Conditioning Wash ($14.95) – I have too much perfume right now so I switched my Scentbird subscription to their branded products, and you know what? Many of them are actually pretty good! So far I liked this body wash the most – it’s actually hydrating and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight. It also smells like caramel and adds a little bit of sparkle. Love it and will buy again!

Repurchase? Yes! Not right now, but maybe later.

4 // The Body Shop Honeymania Bubble Bath ($14) – Lots of bubbles and smells great in the jar but doesn’t scent the water really well so it’s not exactly an aromatherapy session. I like it but I don’t love it – I feel like there’s no point picking between different scents for TBS bubble baths because they don’t smell like anything once you dilute it in the water.

Repurchase? No. (discontinued)

5 // Hask Gloss Boss White Wine Shine Enhancing Shampoo* ($6) – I’ve tried many Hask haircare products over the years and most of them have been amazing. The new-ish UnWine line is no exception: shampoo & conditioner smell like sweet grapes and aren’t harsh to my color treated hair.

Repurchase? Possibly. I like Hask haircare in general, so it might not be this exact shampoo but something else from the brand.

MAKEUP:

6 // Burt’s Bees Nourishing Mascara* ($9) – Burt’s Bees makes fantastic makeup and it’s pretty affordable, too. If you like using natural products, these are well worth checking out. So far I tried their mascara, foundation, and eyeshadows, and all have performed just as well as their conventional counterparts. Plus, it’s been a while since I actually finished a mascara, so that’s an extra special milestone right here!

Repurchase? I prefer other brands, but if I decided to switch to natural brands, I’d definitely consider this one.

It’s not much, but every finished product counts! Have you finished any favorites recently?
