Daily Goodie Box February 2017 Review

Hey ladies! I know I’ve been absent all week, but I had some personal things to take care of, so I had zero time for blogging. It wasn’t anything major or health-related, just a huge pileup of housework that I’ve set aside “til tomorrow” for too long. It’s all good now! [for now] Let’s jump right into the spring of things without the lengthy explanations, shall we? Today I have a new box to show you, and you want to take note of this one for sure. Daily Goodie Box is a lifestyle sampling service, and it’s not a traditional subscription box in, because it’s completely free to members. No shipping charges either. No credit card required.

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one. Daily Goodie Box partners with various beauty, household, and food companies, who simply want to provide samples to regular people, like you and I, in exchange for some feedback. They are not asking for elaborate blog reviews, and you don’t have to be a social media superstar to receive a Daily Goodie Box. Boxes are sent to members daily, based on availability and target demographics, hence the name.

CONTENTS:

In my February bundle I received all of the available monthly samples. For the record, I don’t know if all Daily Goodie Box members receive the same package, or the samples are customized for your demographics, so it’s possible that your box may be slightly different from mine. Here’s the full list of the products inside.

1 // Nellie’s All-Natural Laundry Soda Packs & Wow Stick Stain Remover – Never heard of this brand before, but I like their quirky retro-inspired packaging. More natural household products is something I’ve been interested in for a long time. I actually switched to safer cleaning products for everything, but laundry and dishwasher, and I’m still considering my options because I still haven’t found anything that works well.

2 // JustChill Stress Relief Drink – I got Rio Berry flavor and it tasted great, but I don’t think it helped with stress all that much. Maybe my day was too much for this drink to handle 🙂

3 // Vermont Smoke & Cure Cracked Pepper Beef & Pork Sticks – I love the size of this little snack! The stick is so tiny, it can fit in very tiny purses discreetly. Protein bars are great and all, but sometimes I want a break from those, and having a little savory bite at hand is a great idea.

4 // Nature’s Bakery Raspberry Fig Bar – I’ve been a fan of the fig bars for years, but I rarely purchase them. Even though protein bars and trail mix packs are my go-to snacking choices, sometimes I buy these fig bars just to have something different.

5 // Jack N’ Jill Natural Toothpaste – Before I switched to natural toothpaste, I used to think that only national brands know how to make them to ensure my teeth don’t fall out. I inherited some dental issues from both sides of my parents, so I have to watch my oral health closely. I had great results using natural toothpaste from Toms and NOW Foods so far, and I am excited to give this one a try soon!

6 // Dream Water Sleep Powder – Tried this powder last night as my evening drink before bed, and it tasted delicious. I often take gentle sleeping aid, because I’m a very light sleeper and wake up from every little noise [while Mr. Glamorable would sleep through zombie apocalypse]. The effect was nice and mellow, I slept soundly through the night and woke up feeling refreshed. I might purchase more of these in the future in assorted flavors.

7 // Coffee Blocks Butter Coffee – In theory, this is a hearty drink to enjoy when it’s cold outside and you just want to feel cozy. On practice, I thought it tasted like very bitter burnt butter popcorn with a hint of coconut oil. Food is very individual, so your experience might differ from mine.

8 // Aloha Daily Good Greens – Just had it with my smoothie this morning. Green powders can sometimes taste like cardboard, but this one didn’t have that bland aftertaste, which is commendable. I tried Aloha protein powder too, and it was delicious!

9 // XyliChew Spearmint – I stopped using refined sugar at home and discovered that xylitol is my favorite replacement. Chewing gum and toothpaste with xylitol are both tooth-friendly alternatives that help promote dental health. Xylitol prevents bacteria from sticking to the teeth, preventing excessive plaque buildup, and lowers the acidity in the mouth, which helps the enamel. I enjoyed this chewing gum, it tasted great and helped clean out the food debris after lunch.

10 // Gorilly Goods Organic Snacks – This was actually the first product I tried from the box. I like trail mixes in general, but often they contain too many seasonings, sugar, and sometimes straight up candy. This one was delicious and perfect in its simplicity – just nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. It was a well-balanced snack that I wish I had kept in my purse for later, because it’s perfect on-the-go.

BOTTOM LINE:

Isn’t it surprising how such loaded box can be totally free? I mean, I used to pay what, 16 bucks a month for Bestowed or something, and this one was just as good. I think Daily Goodie Box is worth checking out, especially while they’re still new so your competition for getting a free box is lower. I discovered some cool new products, and look forward to seeing what brands will be featured in the March box. I just hope they don’t go down the same road as PinchMe, who started out great and had lots of free products and offers, and now I am lucky to qualify for a free magazine once in a blue moon.
