Fellow millennials, do you remember the times when lipstick was considered “old ladyish” and we were all obsessing over lip glosses – the shinier the better? Those were the times! I remember being in middle school and tearing off those tiny Maybelline WaterShine Diamonds samplers out of Seventeen Magazine. That moment when I first saw my lips sparkle like a disco ball made me feel so pretty!

Yes, I felt pretty then, but looking back at those pictures as a cynical adult-perfectionist made me see a whole bunch of flaws instead. After all, my application wasn’t that great and the gloss didn’t go with the rest of my makeup at all. But at that moment I felt like the prettiest girl around, and it seemed like the world stopped just to look at my shiny lips 🙂 Silly, I know, but at one point it made me realize I should never judge people for their makeup.
