Liquid lipsticks are huge right now, and I am totally on board with the trend! I was thrilled to find out that one of my favorite mineral cosmetic brands – Pür Minerals – released new Lip Lure Hydrating Lip Lacquers in time for Fall. At the time of this review the range consists of five gorgeous shades that include three neutrals, one deep berry, and one red; and I got to try two of them.
Give your lips a burst of hydrating color with this alluring lip lacquer. Achieve a bold color with flawless shine with a unique formula that features a blend of orbignya oleifera seed oil, avocado oil and jojoba seed oil. Rich and creamy, this full coverage lip color offers a natural shine without a residue.
Mystic is best described as a deep plummy burgundy, and the color couldn’t be more perfect for the season! It’s dark, bold, and at the same time very sophisticated. I usually like the way these types of shades look on other people, but not on myself. To my own surprise, the second I saw myself in the mirror, I fell in love with that rich glossy finish and ultra-flattering hue!
Graceful is more of a neutral everyday shade, and to me it looks like a nutmeg beige, because it has that warm brownish tint to it. Again, I normally steer clear of brown tones on my lips, since my skin is quite fair, but I was blown away once more when I looked up in the mirror to check out the whole look. The color transformed from nutmeg into a beautiful caramel, and made my lips look instantly fuller. What a stunner!
Swatch reference: My skin tone is between MAC NC15 and NW15 with yellowish hue and neutral undertones. Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!
On my lips both Mystic and Graceful lasted the same amount of time – 6 hours before the color started transforming. The formula can withstand light snacks and careful drinking without smudging or fading. While wearing off, Mystic left a beautiful stain on my lips, and it looked so perfectly even I didn’t feel like touching up and instead swiped a layer of lip balm on top to seal in that pretty pigment.
The wand applicator makes Lip Lures easy to apply, and its fluffy tip will work the pigment into all corners of your lips, masking all imperfections, like dry spots and lines without settling into them. That’s more than I can say about half of the lipsticks I own 🙂
My overall experience with Pür Minerals Lip Lure Hydrating Lip Lacquers can be summed up in three words: “I love them!” They remind me so much of Too faced Melted lipsticks, but with richer texture and better longevity, so these are sure to impress any Melted fans out there.
