I grew up in Russia, so you’d think I would be used to low temperatures by now. It’s a much warmer climate where I currently live, but no matter how much time passes, my skin always tends to suffer in the winter. My two biggest concerns right now are the cold gusts of wind and the very low humidity caused by central heating.
Until recently I thought that my only solution was to use very thick and heavy moisturizers to help shield my skin from the chilly weather and dehydration. My face tends to get oily in the T-zone, so I prefer using lighter formulations, but that’s easier said than done. I didn’t have much luck finding lightweight products that would keep my skin feeling protected and hydrated all day long in the winter. In the end, I decided to settle with the heavy stuff, because I would rather walk around with a shiny face than have dry, cracked, and irritated skin.
But things are changing! One of my favorite beauty brands just released three classic moisturizers in a new ‘whipped’ format. New Olay Whips deliver powerful hydration with a smooth matte finish that feels light as air without compromising on providing powerful results we’ve come to expect from Olay skincare.
Olay says the secret lies in the special Active Rush Technology™, which can hold and quickly release 1000x its weight in moisture and active ingredients. The formula constantly releases the water and the actives after the cream comes in contact with the salts naturally found in the skin. The moisture and nutrients are absorbed instantly, leaving the skin deeply hydrated and residue-free.
Olay Whips collection includes three products:
- Regenerist – Formulated with advanced Amino-Peptide Complex II, this lightweight moisturizer helps diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and deeply hydrate the skin, making it appear smoother and firmer.
- Total Effects – The formula contains VitaNiacin Complex II and Vitamins C & E to address the first signs of aging and actively replenish the skin’s moisture levels for a brighter, smoother, more youthful appearance.
- Luminous – Unique PearlOptics™ technology helps make the skin look brighter and more radiant, while minimizing the appearance of pores and improving the moisture levels.
I had the opportunity to try Olay Luminous Whip moisturizer, and so far, I’m impressed. I really enjoy the new whipped texture – it feels so comforting on the skin, but never heavy, sticky, or greasy. I thought it wouldn’t be moisturizing enough, because the cream felt incredibly lightweight, but I was wrong. Olay Luminous Whip makes my skin look smooth, matte, and thoroughly hydrated. After all, it’s the ingredients that make all the difference!
You can find Olay Luminous Whip on Olay here.

The whipped texture sounds divine! Combination and oily skin can be tricky during the colder months, and I am so glad that this is working well for you!
I have a sample of one of the whips that I must try. I think it’s Luminous
I need a unicorn moisturizer for my dry skin!
Luminous sounds like it would be a great one to try but I worry that Olay will be fragranced.
The jar is really pretty, and the whipped texture sounds lovely.
I love whipped textures. I would choose the Total effects jar!
I’m so glad Olay came out with a lighter version, the original was too rich for me.
I absolutely love the packaging! I would like to try the new, lighter Regenerist formula.
