What’s Inside LovelySkin Mother’s Day GWP

Mother’s Day is only three weeks away, and some of you are probably already planning your gifts, activities, and little splurges. One of the most popular purchases for Mother’s Day is skincare, and I am not surprised. High quality products can be quite pricey, and Mother’s Day is the perfect excuse to treat yourself or your Mom to some fancy new beauty goodies.

When it comes to gift giving, my mom usually asks for professional-grade anti-aging skincare [think Obagi, SkinMedica, Elta MD etc]. A lot of these products were either developed or endorsed by dermatologists and cosmetologists, so I totally get why they are her top choice. LovelySkin is one of the biggest online beauty retailers [Top 25 in the country!], and they are among the few websites authorized to carry professional-grade skin care lines. If professional lines are a little too ‘extra’ for your taste, there are lots of spa-quality and salon-quality products to choose from as well. As for me, I am very excited about their selection of natural and organic brands, and look forward to exploring those some more.

LovelySkin is always running great promotions, and the annual Mother’s Day GWP is one of their most popular offers. This year the selection includes a curated assortment of some of the top selling items from the website, and a few up and coming products that you probably haven’t heard of yet. LovelySkin included a handy little booklet explaining what the products are, what they do, and how to use them.

The samples vary in size: some are single use foil baggies, and others come in multiple-use travel-sized tubes and bottles, all together with a total retail value of $211.  Not too shabby for a complimentary gift!

Here’s the full list of items inside the 2018 Mother’s Day GWP bag:

  • La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+ Intense Repair Moisturizing Cream
  • SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E Antioxidant Night Concentrate
  • Replenix Neckletage
  • jane Iredale LipDrink SPF 15 Lip Balm
  • Dermablend Makeup Dissolver Face & Body Powerful Makeup Remover
  • Neocutis Mirco-Night Riche Rejuvenating Balm
  • Erno Laszlo Transphuse Eye Refiner
  • NeoStrata Skin Active Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum
  • FixMySkin Healing Lip Balm Vanilla with 1% Hydrocortisone
  • Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water
  • Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Serum
  • GlyDerm Gentle Face Cleanser
  • Vichy Idealia Serum
  • SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream
  • Red LovelySkin Cosmetic Bag

I thought I’d share my brief thoughts on some of the samples I tried so far.

NeoStrata Skin Active Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum – One word: amazing! I have a full sized bottle of this serum and it was one of the MVPs this winter. It really helped my skin retain a lot more moisture, even when the humidity inside the apartment was in the mid-20s. I literally just finished my bottle a couple days ago, that’s how long it lasted.

Erno Laszlo Transphuse Eye Refiner – Even though it comes in a tiny foil sample, there’s actually at least 3-4 days worth of product inside. The cream was rich and balmy, and felt soothing on the skin. I think it will work well for people with dry or dehydrated complexions.

FixMySkin Healing Lip Balm Vanilla with 1% Hydrocortisone – My lips are chronically chapped, so I go through several tubes of lip balm every month. This is a very nice balm if yours are always in bad shape, like mine. The consistency feels more like a cream rather than a balm, so it doesn’t feel sticky or oily – it’s just kind of there. It does work! After 3 days my lips actually look better.

SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream – I love the smooth creamy texture and the delightful fragrance, but it causes the red spots on my chin and around the nose to flare up and sting. I think I might be mildly allergic to something in the formula.

jane Iredale LipDrink SPF 15 Lip Balm – I’ve been a fan of Lip Drink for ages, but stopped buying it a couple years back because it can get expensive when you go through several tubes of lip balm every month. It works wonders as a lipstick primer, so even the matte formulas don’t look too horrible on me after all.

What's Inside LovelySkin Mother's Day GWP ($211 Value!)

For me, every Mother’s Day is a little bittersweet. My mom lives in Russia, and I only get to see her once a year [usually in the fall for my Birthday], so we can’t really celebrate Mother’s Day together. But when she finally comes to visit, I always shower her with new things to try – she’s as much of a beauty fanatic as I am. This year I will be going to visit her instead [probably in the summer], and I may need a second checked in bag just for the gifts, haha! I’m not sure she will be on board with some of the stuff I plan to bring [peel-off brow tints?], but one thing I know for certain: she would have loved this GWP. It contains several brands she already buys from, and a few products that she would definitely like to try, like the décolleté cream for example.

All in all, I think this is a very solid promotion. The variety of items makes it interesting, the brands are top notch, and the products are a nice mix of best-selling classics and new releases.

You can receive LovelySkin Mother’s Day GWP bag free with any purchase over $200 at LovelySkin.com between 4/24/18 and 4/29/18, while supplies last.
