Taiwanese Beauty Brand You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

Korean beauty products, while still a novelty, are slowly making their way to the Western market. However, Taiwanese cosmetics industry has many exciting gems to offer as well, and today I wanted to introduce you to one of them.

UNT Skincare - A Taiwanese Beauty Brand You've Probably Never Heard Of. With the notion that beauty cannot be represented by one verbal expression alone, the company creates high quality cosmetics that will help you express yourself without burning a hole in the budget. The formulas are developed utilizing some of the most effective ingredients and brand new innovations for skin care and color cosmetics.

UNT sent me several products to try: nail polishes, eyebrow pencil, liquid eyeliner, BB and CC creams. They also included deluxe-sized tubes of the latter two, which I plan to keep for traveling.

Simply apply two-three coats of nail polish, wait three minutes, and seal with Sun Envy Gel Effect Top Coat. Ultraviolet from the sun will do the rest!

Instead, there is a little cutout on the side to see the color. It’s small, but wide enough to see through.

UNT also makes regular non-gel Nail Lacquer, and there are over a hundred fashion forward colors to choose from!

Mineraluxe BB Cream SPF 30 and Naked Truth CC Cream were my favorites among the products I tried. Although the BB cream in BB10 wasn’t a good match for my skin tone, the formula is quite nice for combination skin. It feels featherweight and non-greasy, almost like second skin, and provides even, non-streaky medium coverage. I think this particular product would work great for someone with oilier complexion.

The color matched my skin tone perfectly, so I expect to wear it a lot in Fall/Winter months. This formula feels a little heavier than the BB, so it’s best used by someone with dry or normal skin type. I have combination skin and needed to set it with some translucent powder on top, otherwise it looked too oily.

The eyeliner was actually really nice, way better than some Western liners I tested lately. It has thin felt tip that is pointy to perfection, and applies the lines with great precision. I don’t use eyeliners often and instead prefer tightlining with dark eye shadows using a brush, but when I do I prefer exactly this type.

It might look poorly pigmented in arm swatches, but that’s actually just the right amount of color for achieving natural-looking arches. If you are after bolder and strongly defined brow looks, you may want to try brow pomades and soft pencils instead. This pencil feels slightly dry and hard, which makes the color easily buildable on the brows. The brush tip on another end helps even out pencil strokes and makes them look like real hairs.

I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!

For the record, not all UNT products are made in Taiwan. Mineraluxe BB Cream SPF 30, Naked Truth CC Cream, Eye Define Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, and Brow Master Dual Ended Brow Pencil are made in Korea, while the nail polishes are made in Taiwan.
