Sample Saturday: Missha Time Revolution Best Selling Trial Set

Hello, Saturday, you sure came early! I seriously can’t believe it’s already weekend, it seems like my week just flew by in an instant. This week I actually have a couple noteworthy samples to talk about, both from Missha’s Time Revolution trial set that you can purchase at Missha’s official website by following this link.

So, basically these two are semi-dupes of two other cult beauty products – Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Treatment and SK-II Facial Treatment Essence.

First Treatment Essence is meant to be used during the day under the moisturizer like a toner. It’s a very runny, watery substance that smells strongly of yeast. Apparently yeast cultures are very good for the skin, but I’d be afraid to touch anything else with my hands after using this essence. In one week I noticed that my T-zone is less shiny and pores seem to be noticeably smaller, but I will have to keep using it to make sure it wasn’t just a fluke. The ingredient list looks very promising, and I really hope I end up loving this product, because it’s a lot cheaper than SK-II.

Night Repair New Science Activator is a nighttime anti-ageing serum that is supposed to repair the skin overnight and make it look soft, supple and well-rested. I absolutely HATED the smell of this product, so much that I actually refuse to use it anymore. It smells like burned plastic to me, not even kidding you. I even had to double, no, triple-check the ingredient list to make sure it’s actually safe to use on my face. After comparing the ingredient list to Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, I found out that in fact Missha’s dupe has better ingredients than the original! I really don’t know what in the world could stink this bad, but unfortunately I decided not to continue testing it. So from one night that I actually did try it, I still didn’t like the results, at least not for my combination skin. I woke up with a sticky face that didn’t look any different than the night before, and I know that I definitely didn’t use too much product, because I’m not new to serums. I know one night is clearly not enough to evaluate the product properly, but you wouldn’t torture yourself to wait until you see the results either, would you?

Have you tried any of these products before? What about the “originals”?
