Ricky’s NYC RickyColor Nail Polish Pastel Opal Collection Swatches, Review, Pictures

pr sample

In time for Summer, Ricky’s released a brand new RickyColor nail polish mini-collection – Pastel Opal. The collection includes three neon pastel cremes and a gorgeous flakie glitter to top them off. I received three of the four colors to try plus another mystery shade that I couldn’t find on Ricky’s website. Possible future release or one of the colors from a past LE collection, maybe?

Fire Island Ferry is an opalescent mylar flakie glitter in a clear jelly base. The formula is very thick and I had some trouble applying it on top of my polish; it also didn’t want to dry until I put a few quick-drying drops on it. This flakie is just gorgeous, and really reminds me of an opal.

Hudson Valley Getaway is best described a pastel lime creme, kind of celery’ish, with nice pigmented formula that isn’t too thick or too thin. Thin wand complements the formula well and makes it really easy to apply the polish. The first coat was very streaky, but the second coat evened everything out nicely.

BBCs at Cyrils is described as dusty light blue creme. It has a similar consistency and formula as Hudson Valley Getaway, and also provides nice even coverage after two coats.

Last but not least, our mystery color – Highline Hangout, which looks like a pastel violet creme. It features a highly pigmented formula that provides full coverage after one coat. It’s a little thicker than two other colors, but still fairly easy to work with.
