Ever heard of Prestige Cosmetics? I haven’t until I stumbled upon a few raving reviews from fellow beauty bloggers, and I just couldn’t believe how nice the products seemed to be. My jaw totally dropped when I saw prices – everything I looked at was under $10! Today I am sharing with you my thoughts on Color Treat Anti-Aging Lipsticks in Peach Passion and Berry Fantasy, which are only $6.50 a pop.
Peach Passion is best described as a peachy pink with pink, gold and silver micro-shimmer. It’s not shimmery enough to be a frost, but too shimmery for a satin finish, so think something in-between. The coverage starts as medium, but can be built up to full in 3-4 swipes.
Berry Fantasy is described as a mauvey raspberry, with very fine purple and silver micro-shimmer. It provides a true satin finish, that can enhance the look of just about any lip shape. It’s a bit more opaque than Peach Passion, with only two swipes needed for full coverage.
Color Treat Anti-Aging Lipsticks come in twist-up tubes with caps that are clear on top, making it really easy to grab the right color off the shelf without having to double-check the bottom of the tube. In case some of you are wondering about the fragrance, I’d say they smell waxy and a little fruity, kind of like a pack of gummy bears? Odd comparison, I know, but that’s what they remind me of 🙂
The finish looks very flattering on the lips, making the small lines disappear, and deeper lines look less prominent. These lipsticks didn’t feather or bleed, even though I didn’t use a primer or a pencil. Both Peach Passion and Berry Fantasy lasted about the same amount of time – 6 hours [with drinking and light snacks], before I had to reapply. The formula is better than I expected – usually shimmers and frosts can feel gritty, but not these two; they went on very smoothly and wore comfortably throughout the day.
Last but not least, ladies with dry lips, rejoice! These lipsticks didn’t accentuate my dry spots, instead they masked them, making the surface look smooth and evenly coated with color.
