Michael Stars Folk Art Wrap – This scarf is absolutely gorgeous and loks so well-made, and it’s killing me that I won’t be able to wear it. Problem is that it creates a ton of static electricity, I mean seriously I could probably power a small lightbulb with it. It seriously generates so much that my whole room smells like an old tube TV, if you know what I mean. If anybody has any advice on how to make it stop being so static, I would love to hear your suggestions. So far I tried spraying it with hairspray, and it didn’t help at all.

Illume Nice Boxed Glass Candle – I really like Illume candles, and I was really happy to receive this one in my POPSUGAR MustHave box. This soy candle is scented with sweet vanilla notes has a burn time of 35 hours. Too bad the throw is very weak, and I couldn’t smell it at all from 2 ft away, but it still makes my room feel warm and cozy.

Lands’ End Single Canvas Wine Tote – I normally don’t carry alcohol around, but I heard these totes are great if you plan on bringing your own wine to a BYOB restaurant; they also make great hostess gifts. As for me, I decided to re-purpose mine and use it as a holder for my flat iron, which by the way fits perfectly!

Maison de Monaco Strawberry and Blackcurrant Cream Preserves – These preserves remind me of my childhood: my grandma used to have a beautiful garden with lots of shrubs and fruit trees, and many of those shrubs were different types of currants. Every year she canned dozens of jars with the most delicious preserves, and my mom always enjoyed adding them into pastry and top our ice cream and pancakes 🙂

The Soap & Paper Factory Roland Pine Shea Butter Soap – Pretty much everyone I know hated this soap because it smelled too manly, I on the other hand happen to love manly smells [remember, I’m a closet fan of sandalwood?], so I was thrilled to receive this one. I use both liquid and solid body washes, so this one will definitely be used a lot during the Holiday season, and I think it smells like a Christmas tree! 🙂

Nicka K Absolute! Nail Polish Remover Pads – I love this brand’s makeup remover wipes so I actually had high expectations for the polish remover pads. Unfortunately, aside from being super oily, they made the polish roll into gross clumps 🙁 Maybe that’s just my experience, or maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I seriously doubt I’ll use them again.

Barefruit Crunchy Sea Salt Caramel Apple Chips – I had these before and I love them, but they have a unique taste that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. My husband liked them, but two of my friends said they were totally gross. I guess it’s one of those controversial things, like licorice candy, that people will have a love-hate relationship with.

[Extra] Canvas Pop Gift Card – This is not really a gift card, and the code looks unique but actually it isn’t, so to me this has no real value. Gift cards work like cash and can be combined with discounts and other offers, while coupon codes like this one don’t stack with anything else. If anybody wants to use this code feel free to do so: go to canvaspop.com/30 and use the code POP9388X7N2UY3 at checkout.

THE VERDICT
I was bummed about not being able to use the scarf, and it will keep collecting dust until I find a way to make it less static-y. My favorite items this month were the candle, the apple chips, and the soap with wine tote/flatiron holder and preserves being welcome additions. I definitely liked this box more than the October one, and I look forward to receiving the December goodies – last year they were epic!

Thanks for the suggestion! I hope it works better than the hairspray I used 🙂

Static Guard is my savior! I can’t wear my hair down in the winter as it gets so much static. I spray all my jackets with this and even a dab in my hair and I’m good to go. I pick it up at my walmart in the laundry aisle 🙂

I washed mine on cold gentle cycle, then liquid Downy and line dried it. Looks perfect!!!

I totally agree with you about the scarf static! What I found helped was that I put lotion on my hands, waited for it to soak in and then rubbed my hands over the scarf. Sounds weird, but it worked and since I let the lotion soak in for a few minutes there was no lotion residue transferred. I wore it to work the next day and the static is pretty much gone now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ll be trying this for sure and I really hope it helps, because the scarf is just too pretty to never wear it again 🙁

Second vote for Static Guard. I grew up in New England and used it all the time in the winters. Always been great!

Sea Salt Caramel Apple Chips! I must try these!

Another vote for Static Guard. I sprayed mine and it’s been static-free since then. Found it at Target but I’ve seen it at lots of grocery/drugstores too.

Sweet, that’s exactly what I need! I’m going to grocery shopping tomorrow and definitely picking one up.

I wasn’t super impressed with November’s box, which was my first box and considered canceling but decided to see how December’s box is before I do. The only thing I’d really use from November’s box is the candle. Everything else is just sitting in the box until I find a use for them or give them away to family and friends. We’ll see how this month’s box goes…

I initially thought the same thing as you, but I ended up using everything. I hope you like your December box 🙂
