POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015

March box will be my last POPSUGAR Must Have box for a while, so I was really hoping that it’s an awesome one. Let’s see if it lived up to my expectations! P.S.: There were five things that inspired the March box – Renewal. Citrus. Spring Break. Fresh. Traveling.

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewHOW TO USE: With POPSUGAR Must Have, you’ll get an exciting monthly box, full of hand-selected items from POPSUGAR editors. Each box will include a variety of full-sized products and premium items worth over $100 (ARV). It costs $39.95/month and you can use the code REFERF5 to get a special one-time $5 discount off your first box. If you would like to use my referral link please click here to subscribe to PopSugar Must Have. Thank you!

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewBliss Micromagic Microdermabrasion Treatment – I’m not that familiar with bliss, although my sister loves their foaming cleanser. First thing that stood out to me is the volume – by looking at the packaging you’d never guess this is a facial scrub, you would think this is probably a body product, because the tube is just so big. It exfoliates with help of volcanic pumice instead of plastic beads, which I appreciate, but lava dust is very abrasive, so if you plan to use this treatment, make sure your motions are extra gentle. I think I’ll just pass it on to my sis though, because after inspecting the list of ingredients I discovered cordyceps sinensis extract pretty high up, and it gave me creepy crawly feeling that I couldn’t shake off [click here if you want to know what it is]. I know I’m probably being ridiculous, considering I slather products with snail slime all over, but something about that parasitic fungus extract is just making me cringe on the inside.

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewGreenmarket Purveying Co. The Archivist Lemon + Cucumber Reed Diffuser Kit – This reed diffused smells like spring, very fresh and airy. Did you know that when combined together cucumber and citrus smell like melon? Needless to say, but I’m enjoying my new living room fragrance so far.

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewSamudra Pink Pina Zip Pouch – Oh dear, where do I even begin… This pouch looks so cheap, like something you’d find at a dollar store, with messed up prints and smudged letters. I have no problem with dollar store products, but POPSUGAR claims this thing is worth $40. Nope, not a chance. I still plan to use it as my beach pouch, but mostly because it’s a good size to fit all of the necessities, like multiple bottles of sunscreen and hairspray with SPF. Although, a gallon freezer bag would have probably worked just as well… Not happy about this one, not at all 🙁

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewKnock Knock What To Pack Pad – I do love the idea of this tear-off pre-filled pad, because it has some pretty good packing suggestions. However, even during my jet-setting days I traveled maybe 5-6 times a year at most, and this pad has like 50 pages in it at least. Weekend vacations don’t count because honestly nobody really needs a comprehensive list of things to pack when leaving for 2 days, Seriously, how many people travel so much that they need a pad like this? I just don’t think POPSUGAR thought this one through.

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewWet Brush The Squirt – Suggestive name aside, this brush is actually a great addition to my hair care stash. I’ve been a big fan of the original Wet Brush and even repurchased it a couple times, so having a small one to carry around in my purse is perfect.

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewHalfpops Halfpopped Popcorn – When I first showed this to my husband, he said “Who would want to eat half popped popcorn??” What can I say, he can be pretty conservative when it comes to food, but I have to agree with him here, because every bite was accompanied with a scary loud crunch, making me worry that I just might chip a tooth on these if I’m not careful. Also, cleaning out the spaces between my teeth from kernel bits was kind of annoying, so I suppose I’ll stick to my regular fully-popped popcorn in the future. Bummer, because the seasoning was actually delicious!

POPSUGAR Must Have March 2015 Unboxing & ReviewBenefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara & POREfessional Samples – This duo was a little extra gift thrown in, but I was happier about it than I was about most of this box. I don’t care for POREfessional, but Roller Lash mascara is one of my new favorites, and this sample will come in handy.

unnamed10437445_680274665410606_7853448001177388925_nTHE VERDICT: I’m trying to be positive, because this is my last POPSUGAR box in a while, but I just can’t help thinking what a waste of money this was. They can’t all be winners, and occasional disappointments are to be expected when taking a gamble, but this was just kind of a sad box. Sure, some products were pretty nice, but when I look at this bundle as a whole, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I hope those of you who are getting the May box [spoiler picture above, April is sold out] will receive something really fun, because the quota for fail has been met right here for months ahead, haha 😉 That Kitsch necklace alone looks super cool already! So yeah, if you want to subscribe for May, I would really appreciate if you used my referral link so that I could hopefully get a free box at some point. Thanks bunches!

Too bad this wasn’t a great box 🙁 I was planning to get a subscription to POPSUGAR again for my birthday, but now I’m not so sure!

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:22 pm

To be fair, they aren’t all that bad, and this is the first truly disappointing month in a while. I do hope they don’t plan to continue with this trend though.

  2. April 7, 2015 / 3:02 pm

The wet brush looks promising. Too bad about everything else.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:22 pm

It’s a lifesaver for my hair that easily gets tangled. I don’t know how it works, but that thing is magical.

  3. April 7, 2015 / 3:13 pm

That popcorn sounds dangerous but my fave items would probably have been the Benefit stuff or the pouch, haha.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:23 pm

Girl, I could break my teeth on that popcorn, some of the kernels were so hard, I thought I was chewing on rocks! The seasoning tho… Yum! Wish they’d just send us a packet of that seasoning instead 🙂

  4. April 7, 2015 / 4:18 pm

Like Phyrra, I think the brush looks the best out of all.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:24 pm

That brush is the best, I even bought one as a Christmas gift for my SIL and I think she likes it too 🙂

  5. April 7, 2015 / 5:45 pm

I have to say, I wouldn’t pay $40 for that pouch. Gracious! I do like the photo of the necklace though. Too bad that wasn’t in there.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:24 pm

Yikes, I know right? And I feel like my picture made it look prettier than it is, it definitely looks super cheap and tacky in person.

  6. April 7, 2015 / 8:11 pm

Uhmmm yeah. I want every single thing.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:27 pm

Finally, someone who likes this box! I guess I’m just not the target demo for it, because for me it was super disappointing.

  7. April 7, 2015 / 8:21 pm

I love the Wet Brush, both full-sized and Squirt editions, but I would be leery of parasitic fungus extracts too!

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:29 pm

I only have the regular-sized Wet Brush, and had no idea they also made a mini version. Squirt is perfect to carry around in my purse! And yikes, parasites :)) it’s like those spider creams, I just can’t.

  8. April 7, 2015 / 8:41 pm

meh the box is okay – The popcorn looks delish though

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:30 pm

Eh, I wasn’t nearly as optimistic. I feel like “okay” would be giving it too much praise. The popcorn seasoning was yummy, but the kernels were really hard.

I liked my box but I totally agree with you on that plastic bag–SO not worth $40–who are they kidding?

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:30 pm

I know right? Some of those pineapples and the lettering weren’t even aligned properly, who would pay $40 for that?

I bought this box for a while but it began to feel like I was getting the same things after about 6 months. I got so many reed diffusers and things that didn’t seem worth the price of the box. Yet I keep thinking about reupping.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:37 pm

I don’t mind reed diffusers and candles, and I also liked getting pretty shawls, jewelry, and makeup, but when we get random situational things like cookbooks, wine pouches, and travel planners, it’s all the stuff that never gets used.

  11. April 7, 2015 / 10:51 pm

I would have been bummed with this box, too. Probably why I haven’t ventured too far from the $10- $15 sub boxes. At least when those are disappointing, I don’t feel like I wasted too much money, but $40 could buy me some stuff I’d really use.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:33 pm

That’s how I felt too, Nidia. It was a waste of money for me this time, and feels even worse because it’s my last POPSUGAR box for a while.

that cheapo bag is overly inflated for sure. Not a great box for March definitely

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:37 pm

That’s for sure. I hope April and May are better for those who stay subscribed/new subscribers.

I totally don’t understand the hype of this subscription. I’ve tried it a few times and it’s usually stuff that you don’t really need combined with over inflated junk. Once in awhile there is something really good.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:38 pm

You’re spot on about “once in a while”, and I definitely discovered some must haves via POPSUGAR, but when I pay 40 bucks and get a box like this one, I just feel robbed off my money. Too bad it’s my last one for a while, I really didn’t want to end my subscription on a negative note.

  14. April 8, 2015 / 11:01 am

The Benefit would have been my fave thing. Overall I’m not impressed with March, tho = Usually they really impress me.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:32 pm

I usually like what I get from POPSUGAR, but this box was really disappointing indeed, especially compared to the previous several months.

Oooh I think I’m getting this in the mail this week. Gosh I hope so! That brush is the best BTW.

    • April 9, 2015 / 12:31 pm

That brush is really nice! But I think you will be getting the April box, which is better than this one 🙂

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:36 am

Glad to hear that you like it!
