I know it’s, like, April already and everything, but I got my February bag pretty late, and then my March was a total whirlwind, so here it is – my inappropriately belated review of the Ipsy February 2015 Glam Bag, which was themed #ipsyLOVE.

Ipsy February 2015 Unboxing and ReviewEva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray – Smells very nice, but I don’t think it really gave me much volume, only some texture. Maybe it’s my hair type, or maybe I wasn’t using it right, but I felt like there were similar sprays that performed a lot better.

Ipsy February 2015 Unboxing and ReviewCARGO Cosmetics Essential Lip Gloss Anguilla – It sure seems that CARGO is trying hard to promote their new lip gloss, because I’ve seen these pop up all over the place, and even got the full-sized tube in my Sample Society box last month. The gloss itself is pretty nice, it has good texture and decent color payoff, but why does everyone send me such unflattering colors? I would have loved a darker shade of pink, or even a red – anything that doesn’t wash out my already pale complexion. Like the other gloss I got, this one will only be used as a mid-lip topper to add shine to lipsticks. Random fact: Ipsy sent us a “mini” tube, that has a 4.5ml sticker on it… the retail tube contains 2.5ml. I am so confused right now. So yeah, my price breakdown for this one will be a bit skewed, but at least you know where it’s coming from.

Ipsy February 2015 Unboxing and ReviewRob Scheppy for ‘Tini Beauty Eyeshadow Pearl Fizz – I did not expect much from this eye shadow, but it was surprisingly creamy and pigmented. The texture went over my lids like silk, and stayed put throughout the day! This color is universal enough to be used as a champagne highlighter, and who doesn’t like multitaskers? I’m almost considering checking out the entire palette now, because if all of the pans are this good, it may top some more famous neutral palettes quality-wise.

Ipsy February 2015 Unboxing and ReviewModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder Peach Bellini – This shade is a dead ringer for NARS Orgasm, which is probably one of the prettiest blushes ever created. It’s that perfect combination of peach, coral, and rose hues with subtle golden sheen that gives my cheeks youthful glow and just makes me happy whenever I look at it. These blushes are not just pretty, but very pigmented, and last at least 7 hours on the skin without fading.

Ipsy February 2015 Unboxing and ReviewJOYA Composition No. 1 Parfum Oil – I’ve seen this sample mentioned in Birchbox reviews and always wanted to give it a try, because I’m really into fragrances lately. Perfume oils react differently with each person’s body chemistry, so the same scent will never smell the same on two different people. Composition No. 1 opens up with notes of Italian mandarin, Brazilian orange and fresh quince, then reveals heart of heliotrope petals, tuberose, jasmine, camellia and Damask rose [yay, roses!], and sets on the base of sensual sandalwood, pale musk and tonka bean. On me it was more floral than anything – very fresh and girly. Not sure if I like it yet, because I was expecting woodsy notes to be more prominent, but can’t argue with body chemistry.

Ipsy February 2015 Unboxing and Review[BONUS] skynICELAND Glacial Facial Cloths & Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush – I spent 750 ipsypoints for these two products. I already like the cleansing cloths, and always wanted to try the brush. It’s an inexpensive brush and I probably could’ve spent those points for a higher-priced product, but lately there isn’t much in the points store that I want, so might as well redeem for something I know I’m going to use. The cleansing cloths are great for sensitive skin – if you have problems with some wipes stinging your face, these are not going to do that. And the brush turned out to be pretty nice for spot application of colorful eyeshadow, it works better than my old Crown Brush, which I now can finally toss with a clean conscience.

Ipsy February 2015 Unboxing and ReviewTHE VERDICT: Overall, I thought this was a nice bag for $10, definitely better than some others I’ve seen online. My favorite product is definitely the blush, because I’m a blush hoarder. And I was also pleasantly surprised by ‘Tini Beauty eye shadow; it’s going straight into my cosmetic bag for midday touchups.
