Oh Hi, Do You Still Remember Me?

Those of you who read this blog regularly might have noticed my absence. Up until a few weeks ago I’ve been consistently blogging at least 5 times a week, but lately my postings have been more sparse. To be honest with you, I didn’t feel like writing anything at all, but contractual obligations [read: sponsored posts] prevented me from taking a break.

Long story short, I have been putting off the deep cleaning project for too long and now my apartment is overflowing with stuff. Instead of putting things away in boxes and lightly dusting off the shelves, everything is due for a thorough cleanse. That includes spaces under and behind the furniture, inside of appliances [my stove and microwave need a rehab], under the bed [oh man, I dread that one already], and other places where I usually don’t even think to look. I also plan to go through all of my clothes and all of my beauty products, and downsize that stash majorly. Considering my husband is away at work all day, I am the only one who tidies up around the house, so I have to do the entire thing by myself. That spoiled brat has no chores other than taking out the trash twice a week, haha! 🙂

That’s not all. Some other personal things happened that caused me to become an emotional wreck. In fact, I haven’t been myself for the past few months since mid-summer, and at one point had to battle depression. I’m a little better now, but still not back to my cheerful, easygoing self. Feeling down every day sucks, but I think everyone goes through these periods in life and all we can really do is power through them until we’re out of the woods. Things will get better, they always do.

I know I’ve been terrible at replying to your emails, comments, and messages on social media, but believe me I read them all, and I appreciate each one tremendously. When I’m feeling down, the last thing I want to do is be social, though 🙁

Final reason for sudden gaps in blog posts is actually my new diet. It’s very restrictive and requires me to cook fairly elaborate dishes from scratch 2-3 times daily plus the regular 40-minute workouts 5 times a week. That’s 4+ hours of my day gone right there. Hubs doesn’t always like my diet dishes, and sometimes I end up having to to cook separate meals for him. It’s no big deal, I love cooking, but it sure is time consuming. Just so you know, I’ve seen great results from this diet so far – 13lbs during the first 3 weeks and counting – so I want to stay on it a little longer until I can share my dramatic before and after selfies with you.

I realize all of those things are just a part of life, but I’m absolutely terrible at adulting and everything takes me forever to do. Man, I’m already terrified what my schedule will be like when I have kids…

With all that said, I hope I can get back on schedule soon, but if not, at least you’ll know the deets. Sponsored posts will be my top priority, as they are my bread & butter and help support the upkeep of this blog and my family. Basically, when you work from home and paid opportunities are sparse enough to begin with, you don’t just “skip work”, so I hope you understand. Don’t worry, I will definitely find time to feature non-sponsored content, but I hope you check out the paid posts, too.

Talk to you soon!
