Bondi Uptown Girl Swatches and Review

Update: At this time I no longer recommend doing business with Bondi.

I can almost hear you go “Seriously, Anastasia? Another nail polish post? Give us our subscription reviews, you slacker!” Well, I haven’t gotten any boxes in the past few days, so I’m kind of filling in the blanks with nail polish posts. Besides, I’m very excited about my Bondi goodies, and I wanted to show you these anyway 🙂 Oh and you can just skip the next paragraph if you’re sick of hearing about Bondi’s upcoming subscription service.

For the last time, just a reminder that Bondi will launch a nail polish subscription, called Nail Mail (cute, isn’t it?). For $19.99/month subscribers will receive three full-sized nail polishes + one deluxe beauty item. You can add your contact information to the list to reserve your spot by clicking here. Tomorrow, on July 22nd you will receive an email with a personalized link to sign up and further instructions on how to activate your subscription.

Now to the color! Uptown Girl is a fabulous opaque true lilac creme, it’s not as glossy as Midnight Mystery, but then again, very few polishes are. In the pictures I’m wearing I’m Vers as a base coat, topped with two coats of Uptown Girl, again, with no top coat. The first coat felt a little streaky, but the second one evened it all out nicely. All Bondi polishes dry really fast!

Small note: I own three Bondi polishes, and all three have different formulas. I’m not sure if I like or dislike that, but I just wanted to put that out there.

Hi Anastasia thanks for this awesome review and loving the swatches you took! Just a note on the formula, I’m aware that from color to color the formula varies, this is mainly due to the pigmentation, for instance The Limelight, Central Park Blossom and Brick Road are thin and need two to three coats, whereas Starry Night & NYPD you can usually get away with one.

It is something my team are working on as we’d rather have a consistent formula!

      Hi Rich,

Thanks for clarifying that! I noticed that The Limelight was the streakiest of the three I tried so far, but an extra coat of polish evens everything out nicely and doesn’t seem to cause bubbles, so it’s all good in my book 🙂

Looking forward to the subscription service!

      Thank you, Zoe 🙂
I think I have a couple lavendery lilacs around too, but I mainly got this one for the formula, since none of mine are 5-free.

I’m totally obsessed with them lately, and recommending the brand left and right 🙂 These polishes are non-toxic, fast-drying and uber glossy!

Yes it is, it’s the only color that I wore at least 3 times in this past month!
