My Essentials For Long Car Drives

Just to clarify, I consider anything over 1.5 hrs a long car drive/ride. During that time my skin has plenty of time to become either too oily, or too dehydrated, my lipstick color inevitably fades, and freshly applied in the morning perfume doesn’t smell as nice anymore. I decided to share a few products that are actually in my purse right now that help make these long trips more comfortable, so I can emerge from the car looking refreshed.

I usually keep at least two colors: one is a neutral and another one is something bright and bold, so I can use them depending on the time of the day and the occasion.

I never ever leave the house without a lip balm in my pocket, so naturally it would be in my long car ride survival kit as well.

I carry sample vials of perfume and always use them when I’m 15-20 minutes away from the destination, so the fragrance has a chance to develop and doesn’t smell as overwhelming as when it’s freshly applied.

A lightweight scarf or a shawl is another necessity, because my shoulders always get cold from the AC. I also use it when I need to cover my arms from the sun. And sometimes when we don’t use the AC in the car and just have the windows open I wrap it around my neck to avoid catching a cold. As much as I love fresh breeze, my throat is just too weak for it 🙁

I’ve been a fan Kotex for a decade, and their bright and fun UbyK liners are among my daily staples. They really feel like comfy cotton undies! As for those swirly hair ties – they’re ideal for throwing hair up in a bun while you’re driving, especially if you are sporting a curly hairstyle. Simply untwist it when you arrive, and your locks will fall down on your shoulders in a cascade of beautiful curls, still as voluminous as when you left the house.

By the way, U by Kotex is offering everyone a $1 off any UbyK product coupon and an opportunity to win some fun monthly prizes. Visit bringcomfyback.com and upload your creative pic or gif showcasing your best uncomfy face to enter #BringComfyBack Contest.

These products work for any type of long commute, not just for cars. I definitely had to touch up my lipstick in the subway before, and apply a few spritzes of fragrance after spending 40 minutes on a bus next to a particularly smelly fellow passenger.
