Do you remember my Mirabella linkup with fellow beauty bloggers last Winter? That was a fun one! Among the products I received back then, Colour Luxe Lip Gloss in Luminosity really stood out, and I’ve been wearing it quite often, actually. Which is why I was thrilled to find out that Mirabella is introducing three more beautiful shades to their lip gloss lineup in July: Glossed, Polish, and Sleek.
Colour Luxe lip gloss creates maximum shine with three-dimensional, light-reflecting shimmer. The combination of iridescent and pearlescent pearls create a star-like effect on the lips, taking Colour Luxe gloss to a new level of color purity, brightness and dimensionality.
Mirabella describes Polish as a “beautiful blush hue“, and to me it rings cool babydoll pink with very subtle shimmer, which you can barely see it if you look at the bottle closely. As light as it is, I didn’t expect it to show up on my lips at all, but the formula actually offers medium pigmentation, so the color is noticeable, without being too obvious. It’s a nice everyday shade that will work well with a multitude of looks.
Glossed is described as a “shiny and playful coral”, and to me it looks like a peachy coral with lots of fine golden shimmer. Like Polish, it provides a slight hint of color to the lips, just enough to warm up the complexion without stealing the show. I like wearing it with bright eye makeup, and over other lipsticks and glosses.
And last but not least, we have Sleek, which Mirabella calls “a hint of burgundy”, lightened up for Summer. It’s definitely a plummy mauve, and the only one out of the three that contains no shimmer in the formula. And you know what was the most surprising? You got it, it’s the coverage! This shade is very pigmented, and actually reminds me of a liquid lipstick, rather than a lip gloss. It’s a stunner to wear as a statement lip, or as something to complement a bold eye for a night out. So beautiful and so flattering!
Like the rest of Mirabella’s Colour Luxe Lip Glosses, all three new shades feature the same moisturizing formula enriched with monoi oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and a whole lot of other lip caring ingredients, like pomegranate extract, Vitamins C and E, and anti-aging peptides. They don’t feel sticky on the lips, and actually mask imperfections [lip lines, dryness], while improving your skin’s texture and deeply moisturizing with each application. I would especially recommend them for ladies concerned with lip lines, as these just make the surface look smoother and plumper. In case you care about fragrances, these smell like sweet vanilla frosting.
Ingredients: Polybutene, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Octyldodecanol, Punica Granatum Sterols, Polyethylene, Isostearyl Isostearate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Fragrance (Parfum), Dimethicone, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Silica, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Silicon Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tribehenin, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Tin Oxide, Gardenia Tahitensis Flower Extract, Alumina, Tocopherol, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850) MAY CONTAIN: Mica (CI 77019), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77499), Red 30 Lake (CI 73360), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Carmine (CI 75470), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090).
Swatch reference: My skin tone is between MAC NC15 and NW15 with yellowish hue and neutral undertones. Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!
Even the best formulas sometimes get overlooked if the wand is bad, but Colour Luxe Lip Gloss wands combine the features of a fluffy doe foot paddle and the flexibility of a brush, which helps distribute the color more evenly.
The scent is not overpowering, and is used here to mask the smell of the ingredients. Ever tried those unscented lip glosses? Yuck! They usually taste bitter, too, so I’m all for adding fragrance in the formula in this particular case.
The lasting time on my lips was pretty standard for a good lip gloss – I usually manage to squeeze maybe 2-3 hours out of them before I need to reapply. The good thing is, these don’t slide all over my lips every time I press them together, and even withstand light snacks and a cup or tea.
Do you need this? If you love a really well-formulated lip gloss that will actually moisturize your lips like a lip balm and make them look smooth, give these a chance – they’re worth it.
WHERE TO BUY: $26 USD for 0.14 oz. Available at Mirabella, Dermstore, and professional salons starting July 2015.

I love Mirabella and I am so enjoying these glosses. This is a terrific review, girl.
Aw thank you girl!! I just happened to have some extra free time when I was writing it, so I figured out I’d make it the type of review I want to read with swatches, lip closeups, full-face shots, and all the important pointers, like the ingredient list, smell, taste, and other stuff one could want to know about a product before purchasing 🙂 It sure took me forever to do all this though!
These are flattering on you!
Thank you!
Very pretty colors and they are so shiny. They look great for masking lip lines.

Great choice! I just love how pigmented it is compared to a typical lip gloss. It’s almost like a liquid lipstick!
