My nighttime skin care ritual is something I look forward to every evening, because it’s a great way to relax and unwind after a long day and the result of slathering on all of those lotions and potions is almost always worth it. Memebox Night Care was the first official box of 2015 that came with the “new normal” increased price tag.

HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. MYPU; Black Pearl & Gold Velvet Gel Eye Patch – I bought this box immediately after seeing this spoiler, because I adore gel eye patches! I had another one similar to this one before, and it lasted me quite a while.

How to use: Place a gel patch on your bottom lid, and relax for 20-40 minutes. Remove the patch and gently apply eye cream. Suitable for all skin types.

The patches come in a large jar with a small pair of plastic tweezers attached to the cap for getting the leaflets out without the risk of contaminating the whole batch. They are thoroughly soaked in moisturizing essence: enough to provide benefits, but not so bad that they start sliding around your face. So far I used them every day for a week, and they always make my undereye area look well-rested, refreshed, and youtuful.

AVEC MOI Mask Set – This set will take care of those dry hands, split nails, frizzy hair, and rough feet, which is just what we need in Winter. I tried every type of these masks before, but never from this brand, so it’ll be interesting to see how they compare.

How to use: Apply these masks to clean skin, hair, or nails, then wear for 15-20 minutes and massage the remaining essence.

The hair mask is infused with a rich blend of pito collagen, bean protein, silk protein, botanical plus-10, argan oil, olive oil, shea butter, and royal jelly, and doesn’t need to be rinsed off. The foot mask contains shea butter, macadamia oil, vitamin E, and fresh herbal complex that penetrates deep into the skin and softend all those dry and rough spots. The hand mask contains camellia extracts, collagen, vitamin E, argan oil, and natural herbal complex that nourish and tighten the skin, making the hands have a more youthful appearance. And finally, the nail mask is soaked in a moisturizing essence containing cacao seed butter, milk protein, hydrolyzed bean protein, hydrolyzed collagen, honey, and macadamia oil that help

D’RAN Wonder Lifting Eye Cream – I am SO happy to see D’RAN in my box, because I loved, and I mean loved every single products from this brand that I tried. I have a bunch of eye creams sitting in my stash waiting to be used, but some of them I would rather give away. My Mom’s skin drinks these up so she uses them much faster than I do, and always happy to have a spare.

How to use: Using your ring finger gently pat in a small amount of cream into your eye area. Suitable for all skin types..

We got here a nice mix of snail slime filtrate, mushroom extract, niacinamide, macadamia oil, meadowfoam seed oil, and even human oligopeptide, that will do pretty much everything to improve the look and feel of the skin around the eyes. Most of the actives are ranked high on the ingredient list, making this a potentially highly effective eye treatment for dark circles, puffiness, dryness, redness, and fine lines.

TOSOWOONG Natural Pure Snail Essence – This essence contains 20% snail slime filtrate, which we already know is pretty awesome, and 40% birch tree leaf water, that is still pretty exotic in skin care.

How to use: Apply to skin after cleansing and toning. Suitable for all skin types.

Apparently, birch tree is loaded with antioxidants and also provides brightening properties. I have other essences to go through first, but this one is at the top of my list to try next. I read a few blog reviews, and sounds like this might be a pretty good product!

SWITCH PATCH Elephant 3-Step! Black Head Nose Pack – Nose patches are a classic! There are lots of different types from different brands, and they all work the same way – help extract the excess oil from the pores on your nose.

How to use: Apply the first sheet over clean skin and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Take off the first sheet, then dampen the skin, and place the second sheet and remove after 10 minutes. Finally, place the third sheet, remove after 10 minutes, and apply moisturizer.

There’s something oddly satisfying about peeling off a patch to see all the gunk pulled out, but I recently read that these strips shouldn’t be used more often than once every 3-4 weeks. This kit contains three different types of masks – a cotton mask, a peel-off mask, and a bio-cellulose patch.

HEART FACE Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack – I tried a small sample of this sleeping pack in Memebox Global #8, and it didn’t impress me much. It’s a gel-cream type mask, that feels nice on the skin, but after using up my entire sample jar, I didn’t notice any improvements.

How to use: Apply in the PM as a last step of skincare routine. Suitable for all skin types.

I am keeping this box sealed so I can give it away to someone else to try. It’s not a bad mask, so it’s not like I’m giving away some useless leftovers, it’s just that I’ve tried much better ones and have plenty of those in my stash already.

THE VERDICT
This is actually a pretty well-curated Night Care box, and most of these products would be very useful, especially before a special event, like a wedding or a prom. Imagine magically waking up with silky hair, supple skin, soft hands and feet, and nails that look like you just got a fresh mani! And not a sign of undereye puffiness from those salty crackers you had last night. I am impressed with the curation, and think this box was well-done, although I’m not a fan of these increased box prices 🙁
