After skipping Memebox #9, I took a nice long break and purchased Memebox #10 [and other numbered ones through 14]. I think that numbered Memeboxes and Luckyboxes always provide the best value for the money, so I was looking forward to seeing what fun things I was going to receive this time. Well, the selection didn’t disappoint! Go ahead and see for yourselves.

Memebox Global #8 – contents

HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. Memebox ships internationally, so make sure to check on their website and see if they ship in your country – chances are they do. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box might not be available for sale anymore.

Atopalm Moisturizing Eye Repair Serum

Atopalm Moisturizing Eye Repair Serum – Atopalm products are sold all over the place in that US but many people don’t know that it’s actually a Korean brand. So far I tried their moisturizer, which I found to be too heavy for my combination skin, but this eye serum was a different story. I only tried it twice so far, but my eyelids seem to like it so far. The formula feels very rich and nourishing without making the skin looking oily or greasy.

Dewytree Ginseng Nutritious Black Mask

Dewytree Ginseng Nutritious Black Mask – This mask contains ginseng and ginkgo extracts, and promises to brighten and soothe the skin. There’s a lot of liquid in the pouch, so the sheet is super slimy and it felt a bit yucky at first. I decided that instead of trying to battle gravity and attempting to prevent the mask from sliding off my face I should just lay down and read a magazine… I woke up two hours later with baby soft skin! 🙂

Caolion Mool Pool Deep Cleansing

Caolion Mool Pool Deep Cleansing – Kind of a weird cleanser, but it’s interesting to try. You apply it with dry hands on dry skin and massage in circular motions until it feels very liquid, then wash it off. The texture looks and feels like liquid jello, I thought it was interesting. Since it’s unscented, it might be suitable for people with scent sensitivities. Most importantly, it worked quite well to remove makeup, even from my eyes, without stinging and irritating.

Mise en scene Curling Essence 2X

Mise en scene Curling Essence 2X – If I understand correctly, this is like a leave-in treatment and a curl definer in one. I don’t have curls, but I always try to use something to smooth my frizzy hair, and this serum worked pretty well. It nourished the ends of my hair, making it less puffy at the bottom. It smells like fruits, too, which I like!

Hanskin Bio Origin Royal Ampoule BB SPF 30 PA++ – arm swatches

Hanskin Bio Origin Royal Ampoule BB SPF 30 PA++ – My skin really loved this liquid BB cream! The formula is very pigmented, so I barely needed any product to achieve medium coverage. It contains some orange pigment that works well for neutralizing the redness and evening out the skin tone. It can take a few minutes to set, but once it does, it lasts all day.

Drww Multi-Action Smart Cream Gel

Drww Multi-Action Smart Cream Gel – This gel feels and smells like another Korean aloe vera gel I have, but the product card has no mention of aloe. Instead, it lists mineral-rich water from coral reefs, portulaca and green tea extracts as active ingredients. Honestly, I didn’t think it was that special, I will probably use it as a body lotion instead.

THE VERDICT
So, this is another skincare heavy box, and I know some people don’t like that, but I really do. For me this box was great, and I had a chance to try some really cool products, like that liquid BB cream. My favorite products were the BB cream and the cleanser. Least favorite would be that last gel, mostly because I didn’t think there was anything revolutionary about it. It’s a good product, but after trying a sample I don’t think a lot of people [myself included] would run to purchase it.

What did you think about box #10? Did you ever purchase a Memebox before?
