MDSUN Wrinkle Smoothener | Anti-aging Skincare That Works

As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog post, there seems to be a general misconception on when it’s appropriate to start using anti-aging skincare. “I don’t have wrinkles yet, so I don’t need anti-aging products” – I hear this one too often, and while everyone is free to do what they want with their body, this is not the approach I personally agree with. To be honest, to me that phrase sounds like “I don’t have melanoma yet, so I won’t wear SPF”, but to each their own, right? However, it’s hard to argue with the facts, and the fact is our body starts losing 1% of its collagen every year starting around the ripe age of 21. Collagen is what makes your skin bounce back after all of those smiles, frowns, and wrinkly pillow cases, so I guess you guys get where I’m going with this. The less collagen your body produces, the more it shows on your face, especially in areas that get a lot of wear, like your forehead, lips, and eyes. In my case, I definitely started using collagen boosting skincare too late, so I will probably see my first wrinkles within the next few years around the time I turn 40. But I’ve been very diligent about daily SPF application since mid-20s, so we will see how far that will take my line-free skin. Today I wanted to turn your heads to one of the products I’ve been loving lately – MDSUN Wrinkle Smoothener [$295, available here].

ABOUT THE SERUM:

I mentioned that MDSUN Wrinkle Smoothener is a highly concentrated product. It’s packed with skin-smoothing peptides, repairing stem cells, and nourishing alpha lipoic acids, that soften the skin, aid collagen production, and slow down the formation of fine lines, while visibly reducing the look of already existing ones. The formula also contains Vitamin C, known for its brightening properties and for being one of the best antioxidants to combat free radicals in the air and tap water.

“Powered by peptides, stem cells, and alpha lipoic acids, the Wrinkle Smoothener reduces wrinkle depth and improves skin’s texture while quenching skin-damaging free radicals.”

Product features:

  • Reduces skin formation of lines and wrinkles through powerful peptides and alpha lipoic acids
  • Aids collagen synthesis, repairs and prevents photoaged skin
  • Hydrates and rejuvenates skin’s appearance

Like my favorite Super Hydration B Serum, Wrinkle Smoothener comes in a glass bottle with a dropper applicator. The bottle looks and feels very luxurious, and I certainly appreciate finer packaging. Some reviewers noted that it’s hard to fill up the dropper, but I think that’s by design. The dropper grabs the precise amount of product you need, which is only a few drops, so you don’t needlessly waste this precious liquid.

Key ingredients: Acetyl octapeptide-3, Rh-Polypeptide-1, Tripeptide-29, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl, Human Stem Cell Conditioned Media, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Chicory Root Extract, Thioctic Acid (ALA).

HOW TO USE:

MDSUN recommends massaging a few drops into the skin after cleansing and toning. If you follow a kbeauty skincare routine, regard Wrinkle Smootehner as an ampoule and apply it after your usual booster and first essence. FYI: My post about Korean ampoules is still in the works, and I am writing it slowly sentence by sentence, but it’s coming eventually!

BOTTOM LINE:

I wrote about this company before, and both the eye cream and the serum left a really good impression. If you follow me on Snapchat, you know that in order to go through my vast collection of skincare [that has an expiration date] I’ve adapted a no-compromise approach, so right now my routine includes only the products my skin fully agrees with. I follow a multi-step Korean beauty regimen, and based on the concentration of active ingredients MDSUN Wrinkle Smoothener belongs in the ampoule category, so I’ve been using it accordingly: a few drops gently patted into the skin after applying a toner and a booster to further increase the efficacy. The serum is scentless and feels absolutely weightless, so it’s easy to forget that you even applied it. Along with long-term benefits, it provides an immediate smoothing effect. The skin feels instantly softer to touch [all thanks to peptides], which helps with skincare and makeup application. Overall, I am very pleased with the results I see in the mirror: my complexion looks more even, more radiant, smooth, and soft to touch. Every time something causes my face to become rough and bumpy [hello, crazy peels that I love to test!], I apply a few drops of Wrinkle Smoothener and it all goes away within a few hours.

You can purchase MDSUN Wrinkle Smoothener at MDSUN.

I need to try this! I agree, one is never too young to start with skincare. I started using anti-aging products (retinol in particular) when I was in my mid-20s. At 41, I’m happy to say that I did the right thing! That and sunscreen, that and no vices!

Girl, you skin looks amazing, and you absolutely did the right thing! I was not smart enough to start at 21, and I regret that.

I wish I had applied collagen-based products when I was younger so when the deep cystic acne turned up, it wouldn’t have scarred so badly. Ah well; regrets, regrets. Love the vibrant packaging. This would look so pretty on the vanity!

Girl, I’m with you! I wish i started using collagen-boosting products sooner, but it’s never too late 🙂

I never thought about using collagen while I’m young but reading the comments has convinced me otherwise! This sounds great!

    • May 30, 2016 / 8:09 pm

Like everyone else, I started using collagen-boosting products too late, but at least I was never much of a tanner so that gives me home that I can stave off fine lines and wrinkles just a little longer.

This sounds amazing! I wish I had started a better skincare regimen when I was a bit younger

It’s never too late to start taking better care of your skin, Lisa!
