Love Goodly December/January 2020-2021 Box Review
This year has been a whirlwind for us all, hasn’t it? If you’re like me and all you want is a little calm and kindness, let me introduce you to Love Goodly. This beauty & lifestyle subscription box has always been one of the warmest and kindest packages to receive. The products in Love Goodly boxes are vegan and cruelty-free, and part of the proceeds goes to various animal welfare organizations. I also really admire Love Goodly for supporting and showcasing small businesses – this subscription introduced me to some really amazing brands that I never would have found on my own. This year, Love Goodly also partnered with NOVICA, a marketplace for handcrafted gifts that supports talented artisans from all over the world. I browsed the website for some gift ideas and ended up ordering a pair of beautiful minimalist handmade teakwood plates from Indonesia for myself.
HOW IT WORKS:
Love Goodly offers two subscription tiers. IN THE BOX:
1 // Delia Organics Eye Dare You Eye Serum ($25.99) – It was Love Goodly that introduced me to Delia Organics in the first place, and I’ve been loving their products since! My favorite one – Creme de la Creme Body Whip – is 100% worth a try. This eye serum contains only four botanical-based ingredients: Cranberry Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Avocado Oil. It feels nourishing on the skin but not over the top greasy like some other oils. This blend helps to gently soothe and moisturize the delicate undereye area – perfect for winter weather!
Professor Herb UK Mandarin, Basil, and Lime Night Cream
2 // Professor Herb UK Mandarin, Basil, and Lime Night Cream ($24.50) – First things first, how cute is this apothecary-inspired packaging? It reminds me of those ointments from old magazines or maybe even something from my grandma’s beauty vanity – this vintage vibe is really sweet. This particular night cream has a rich, almost balmy consistency, and works kind of like an overnight mask. It hydrates and moisturizes the skin overnight thanks to a generous helping of glycerin [amazing humectant!] and antioxidant-rich citrus extracts help boost free radical protection while you sleep. It’s the kind of product anyone in the family can use.
EVIO Clean Mascara
3 // EVIO Clean Mascara ($24) – If you prefer botanical-based mascaras, this one is for you! It’s one of the better “natural” formulas I tried and the wand does a fantastic job at lifting the lashes for an added boost. Noteworthy ingredients include nourishing hempseed oil that cares for the lashes, and various conditioning plant oils and extracts. The effect is not quite on par with my conventional favorites, but it’s a good alternative!
4 // Zatik Orange & Tea Tree Hand Sanitizer ($8) – This hand sanitizer is seriously so good! It smells like an orange creamsicle and has the most amazing texture. It kind of feels like a thick liquid hand soap that absorbs into the skin without drying it out – and no flakes! Plus the compact size of the bottle makes it easy to carry in your purse or in the pocket of your winter jacket for all your on-the-go hand sanitizing needs. I need like a liter of this thing now, haha!
Nude and Noir Bijou Face Palette (swatch)
5 // Nude and Noir Bijou Face Palette ($36) – This cream-to-powder face palette comes as a bonus product in the Love Goodly VIP box, on top of the four products listed above. This palette features four earthy shades that can be used on eyes, lips, and cheeks to create a natural, nude glow. The pans felt a little stiff at first, but once I rubbed them a little bit with a warm finger, they transformed into rich, creamy pigments that glided over the skin like a dream. This might be my favorite product that I received from Love Goodly, seriously. You guys know me, I’m a huge fan of the dewy no-makeup look that highlights the skin’s natural tone and texture, and this palette helps me achieve just that. I love every single shade in this and have been using all four to add glow and definition to my eyes, lips, and cheeks and to subtly enhance my natural features.
This box was beautifully curated and had some amazing products – I really enjoyed all of them and I’m sure if you were to gift it to a friend or a loved one, they’d have fun trying everything, too. I’m very impressed with the face palette [reminder: it only comes in the VIP box] and will get a lot of use out of the mascara and the hand sanitizer. My skin can be a little finicky with glycerin so I will rotate the night cream in and out depending on tolerance, and I definitely plan to reach for the eye serum a lot this winter.
Every Love Goodly box benefits a charitable cause, and the December/January box gives back to Farm Sanctuary, a leading farm animal protection organization.
