As you might have noticed, I’ve been on a Korean beauty kick lately, and in this review I’ll show you a great BB cream that blends well, and looks natural while enhancing your skin tone. Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream [sold at Wishtrend.com] comes in just one shade, suitable for Fair to Light/Medium complexions, and because of its neutral undertones it’s universally flattering.

PRODUCT CLAIMS
Klairs’ unique smart color system is suitable for all skin types and undertones. Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Leaf extracts help moisturize and soothe dry and irritated skin, while lightweight formula doesn’t clog pores. Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream replaces four steps in your makeup routine — SPF, Primer, Foundation, Setting Powder — saving you a few extra precious minutes in the morning. Klairs products are environmentally-friendly, cruelty-free, and don’t contain parabens and other known skin irritants.

As usual, the first thing I do after opening beauty products is smell them, and this BB cream had a light, slightly floral scent to it. Even though the tube is not exactly airtight, it still protects from cross-contamination, which is the main reason I try to avoid foundations in jars and pans.

It’s really hard to make a universally flattering shade, so that’s the first claim I wanted to test. I put two dots on my wrist, and I could immediately tell it will look good. The dot on the right blended into the skin effortlessly, leaving the area looking moisturized and supple, while hiding minor skin discolorations.

After waiting a little bit to make sure I don’t get an allergic reaction, I finally applied it on my face. If you follow Glamorable on Facebook or Google+, you know that I’ve been sick with a cold, and I’m sure it shows in the pictures. I was surprised that both Before and After look nearly identical if you look at them from afar – that’s how well Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream blended into my skin. Pay attention to the area around my nostrils and on my cheeks, as well as slight dark circles under my eyes – this BB cream covered all of them pretty well, while still looking very natural and not completely hiding my complexion.

I like that most Korean BB creams contain high SPF, and this one has a factor of 40, which is usually more than enough for daily wear, if you don’t spent too much time outside. For prolonged wear outdoors, I would layer it with another SPF product.

Overall, I would say Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream is suitable for people with dry, sensitive, dehydrated, or combination skin that prefer a more natural look. The coverage is layerable, but I wouldn’t hope for anything over medium.

P.S.: When I first took the tube out of the box, I thought it looked like toothpaste 🙂

Interesting! Is it something you just wanted to try, or will you keep using regularly?

Initially I wanted to just try it and see how it compares to my current HG from Missha, and discovered that they can’t really be compared. Missha Perfect Cover is medium/high coverage, while Klairs is Light/Medium. I like the texture of Klairs a lot more, so I will definitely keep using it on the days when my skin isn’t throwing a tantrum.
