This month Juniper Box is celebrating its founder’s Lynn Tao’s Birthday with the selection of fun sweets that make up Lynn’s personal taste in snacks: “blueberries, root beer, and grown-up Reese’s”. I’m wishing Lynn a Happy Birthday and sending a virtual hug with my biggest thanks for creating this amazing subscription service. Cheers!
About Juniper:
Juniper is a tampons and treats subscription aimed at redefining the monthly period experience for women. Juniper wants to turn a woman’s period each month from a cause of stress into an occasion for pampering. Every cycle, a Juniper package is delivered to the subscriber before her period begins. For $28/month subscribers are sent a personalized selection of tampons and other backup protection products, as well as hand-picked gourmet treats like artisan chocolates and herbal teas. In April-2013, If you mention my name – Anastasia Smith – on the last page when you check out, your SECOND box will be free. That brings the price of this subscription to just $14/month for the first two months. Here’s an example of what the page will look like. Thank you and have a fabulous time of the month!

Ahmad Tea in Mango Magic, Chamomile & Lemongrass, and Evening Tea and Betterbee Honey Straws in Blueberry, Rootbeer, and Lemon
I used to buy Ahmad tea a lot when I lived in Russia, it’s a very popular tea brand over there, and the tea itself as a hot drink is actually more popular than coffee. I have never tried any of these varieties before, so I’m going to savor every cup! π And of course I’m very impressed with the selection of honey straws this month, I would have never thought they existed! Super intrigued by the green root-beer flavored one π The root-beer flavor is actually the brown one!
JJ’s Sweets Original Cocomels
These yummy Cocomels totally cocomelted in my mouth! *har har* Who would have thought that vegan and gluten-free sweets could be so delicious! I stretched each candy to about twice its size so I actually got four servings π
Jer’s Pretzo Change-O Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar
I shared this one with my husband after seeing his puppy eyes, and although I’m not a peanut butter person, very often during that time of the month I get weird cravings for things I never even liked before. This time around, I really wanted to eat this bar, like, really wanted, as in “Give me Jer’s or give me death” kind of wanted [cray-cray alert]. So in the end both of us enjoyed sharing it quite a bit, and my husband said this was the best PB dessert he’s ever had!
Silk Original Shortbread Rectangular Cookie
Yay for a woman-started company! Jean Silk started Silk Shortbread with a mission to “bring the classic flavor of shortbread cookies to the United States to be enjoyed as they are in the regions such as the United Kingdom.” These cookies make a perfect pair for an afternoon tea, and the consistency couldn’t be more perfect. The sweetness of the cookies complements the bitterness of the tea, and they’re dry enough to make you want to keep sipping from your cup but not Sahara desert dry to make you chug a gallon of water. My grandma used to treat us to shortbread cookies all the time, as they’re fairly easy to make. I really hope they become more popular, in fact this inspired me to make a batch myself π
Marich Natural Chocolate Blueberries
What a fantastic treat, I couldn’t get enough of it! First of all, these look very fancy in person, and each candy is pretty big. They taste way different than what I imagined, I thought the dark chocolate would be more profound, but they’re very “blueberryish” and have a lovely milky aftertaste. So even if you’re not a dark chocolate lover, you might actually like these.
[Extra] Seattle Chocolates Pike Place Espresso Truffle Bar
This chocolate bar was not included in the card which makes me think it’s an extra special gift Juniper sent to me personally. I think I pretty much shouted from every rooftop about my deep love for dark chocolate, and it’s so incredibly nice of them to send me this delicacy! The bar is very rich so just one piece was more than enough for a fulfilling snack. The soft and creamy truffle filling is encased in a delightful dark chocolate crust, and you can clearly taste the fine coffee crumbs with every bite. Thank you, Juniper! XOXO
The Girly Goodies
As always, my hand picked girly goodies were all accounted for and securely packaged in discreet opaque pouches and containers.

Psst: the blueberry is the blue one. and the rootbeer is the brown one. π
Thank you! I would have never guessed π
I’m in a bit of a bind now…
I’ve already reached out to “another time of the month” service that you’ve reviewed but frankly, the Juniper service is superior and a few dollars cheaper.
Do you think it would be wrong to promote both services if there’s no “non compete clause” involved?
BTW, I would SO order this but I’ve had a “hystie”. I really don’t miss that time of the month but you know, these are the goodies that SHOULD have been included in the Goodies box, lol.
There’s nothing wrong in promoting both services if you like both of them π After trying two of them, I decided that for me personally Juniper is better, because they send out exactly what I need: feminine products and lots of sweets and tea. These are all the things I normally stock up on every month, but with Juniper I’m in for a pleasant surprise every time!
I agree, the selection of treats is so good, way better than Goodies has been lately! You can pretty much consider this as two subscriptions in one, haha π
