Julep Mystery Box Review: December 2012

This was only my second time purchasing Julep nail polishes, mainly because I was never able to justify the price tag for such small bottles. However I do like the idea of mystery boxes and I already know I like the formulas and most of the colors so I figured I’m not risking much by purchasing one.

With the promised value of at least $100 I thought my odds of getting the box I like are pretty high. In the end I received six different polishes, two of which were glitters, SPF face and body lotion, nail shimmer powder and some samples.

Polishes – Lucy, Erica, Renee, Catherine, Emmanuelle, Chelsea

Lucy: Modern, dark burgundy crème.
Erica: New, never before released color. It’s brown/bronze glitter with cool silvery tones.
Renee: Spring lilac crème.
Catherine: The original classic, go-to red crème.
Emmanuelle: Sheer warm pale pink crème.
Chelsea: Violet, silver and purple multi-dimensional full coverage glitter.

Here’s a swatch of Erica (the new glitter) over Lucy.

Daylight Defense SPF 30
I love products with SPF because I’m a sun protection freak and avoid tanning like a plague. This lotion will definitely be used a lot.

Glitter pot
These are supposed to be sprinkled on wet nails. I have never used one but I’m very excited to try and see how they are!

And last but not the leas: samples of polish remover and hand scrub
I already have a full-sized bottle of the hand scrub and although I don’t use it often I still like it. And of course who wouldn’t like those cute polish remover packets, they’re so handy!
