It’s Time to Recycle Your Period Pad and Use Poise Thin-Shape for LBL

There are certain topics that many women are embarrassed to talk about, LBL, or light bladder leakage, being one of them. Unfortunately, one in every three women will experience LBL at least once in her life, and often it’s completely unavoidable.

  • Weak pelvic floor muscles
  • Pregnancy
  • Hystersectomy
  • Menopause
  • Childbirth
  • Weight gain
  • Stroke
  • Chronic diseases
  • Bladder or UT infections
  • and many more…

I think the overwhelming feeling of “shame” associated with LBL comes from childhood, when kids are told that wetting their bed is something that should not be happening. It’s something that could be the reason for bullying, if certain types of peers ever found out. As adults, we live in a much more accepting and reasonable world, so things like that should not be the reason to be ashamed of your body, and there are products that can take care of the issue with maximum comfort and without anyone knowing.

Someone very close to me is experiencing LBL, and she uses regular maxi pads to control the leaks, which of course don’t offer an adequate level of protection. Poise Thin-Shape pads with Super Absorbent Material (SAM) and a Thin-Flex design were created to become an invisible layer that grants extraordinary protection that’s a lot drier than regular pads.

They are also much thinner than maxi pads! I cut open one maxi pad from a popular national brand and compared it to Poise Thin-Shape, so you can see the difference for yourself.

I suggested that she donates the unopened ones to one of many women’s shelters in her area, and she might as well goof around with the ones she has open. I read that the super-absorbent gel inside of them works wonders for sprouting plants at home. Knowing how much she loves her potted plants, I bet that’s what she’s going to do.

Also, since the purpose of period pads is to absorb liquid, might as well use them for wiping off kitchen and bathroom messes. A bottle of hand soap slipped from my hand today and spilled a little bit on the floor, so I used a maxi pad from today’s demo for the clean up – worked like a charm!
