Ipsy GlamBag April 2014 Review, Pictures

purchased affiliate links Referral Bonus

April was a petty busy month for me, so I’ve been lagging behind on most of my subscription box reviews. I know, I know, we’re already drooling over May Ipsy spoilers, but I think I should at least share with you what I got in April. Without further ado, here’s what I got last month!

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil – This is a GREAT black eyeliner, it’s super creamy and super pigmented. After applying you have a couple minutes to blend it however you want, after which it sets and becomes waterproof and smudgeproof.

Demeter Jasmine Perfume Oil Roll On

Demeter Jasmine Perfume Oil Roll On – A very nostalgic fragrance, this is exactly how my first perfume smelled! Actually, now that I think about it, I think it was an oil, too. It came in a small round bottle, and I thought it was so cool that I have my very own perfume grown-up perfume. Jasmine note is very strong, so a tiny smidge on my wrist, rubbed against another wrist was just enough.

dr. brandt microdermabrasion

dr. brandt microdermabrasion – The beauty world is slowly phasing out the plastic microbeads, so I don’t think this product [and many others like it] will be around for much longer. I have to admit, I did enjoy the microdermabrasion-like effect, and the way it made my skin feel afterward, but I know I won’t be buying the full size.

Mary Kay At Play Jelly Lip Gloss in “Teddy Bare”

Mary Kay At Play Jelly Lip Gloss in Teddy Bare – The color is just not for me, and it’s not the kind of color one can easily gift, so I’ll just include it as a bonus next time I sell something on eBay. From what I hear, the formula isn’t very good: many ladies reported that it feels sticky and gluey.

Rainbow Honey Nail Polish in “Midnight Fountain”

Rainbow Honey Nail Polish in “Midnight Fountain” – brush

Rainbow Honey Nail Polish in “Midnight Fountain” – swatch

Rainbow Honey Nail Polish in Midnight Fountain – Described as a holographic nail polish with iridescent glitters that swim around in a shimmery blue base, Midnight Fountain really won over my heart. The formula is wonderful, and the precise wand makes it so easy to apply!

TokyoMilk Dark by Margot Elena La Vie En Rose & Salted Caramel Lip Elixirs

[Bonus] TokyoMilk Dark by Margot Elena La Vie En Rose & Salted Caramel Lip Elixirs – These were bonus items I grabbed with Ipsypoints. I tried La Vie en Rose before, but Salted Caramel was new to me, so I was curious if I’m going to like it. These are supposed to be used on the lips, but I actually apply them on my wrists like a solid perfume. According to Tokyomilk website, La Vie En Rose smells like Rosewater, Sweet Orange, Peach, and Tahitian Vanilla; and Salted Caramel smells like Sweet Cream, Sea Salt, Caramelized Sugar, and Toasted Vanilla Bean. Both are really pleasant and unique fragrances!

THE VERDICT
I think this month’s bag was outstanding! I might not personally care about some things in it, but just by looking at the brands and sample sizes, it sure seems like the quality keeps going up. I especially loved seeing Rainbow Honey, I feel like they deserved the exposure, because their polishes are really great.
