Ipsy Glam Bag Plus November 2020 Unboxing & Review
Oh hey, guys, I realized that I totally forgot to show you what came in the November Ipsy Plus bag! Better late than never, right? I did an unboxing video and swatched everything on stories, and then I planned to post this review the same week, but never got around to it. Without further ado, here’s what you could get as an Ipsy Plus subscriber.
HOW IT WORKS:
Each month you will receive a new drawstring pouch filled with a mix of 5 full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Ipsy Glam Bag Plus members can watch videos and play along with the stylists, all for only $25/month ($120+ value). Click here to check it out.
F.A.R.A.H. 5-Piece Eye Perfection Set
1 // F.A.R.A.H. 5-Piece Eye Perfection Set ($48) – I liked the variety of shapes, the metallic handles, and the dense cruelty-free hairs. These are decent, functional brushes that will be your little makeup workhorses, and they don’t seem like they’d be too fussy to care for – ahem, I’m looking at you, my finicky Japanese artisanal pieces. 5/5
Trestique Good Vibes Mascara Curler + Lash-Enhancing Mascara in Icelandic Black Laquer
2 // Trestique Good Vibes Mascara Curler + Lash-Enhancing Mascara in Icelandic Black Laquer ($25) – This mascara is genius! not only does it have an hourglass-shaped wand that curls and lifts the lashes, but the cap has a built-in mini eyelash curler for touchups on the go. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I’m obsessed! I think I might even repurchase this one. 5/5
3 // Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream ($65) – This moisturizer is another one of my favorite finds this fall. It’s rich and creamy, but not too heavy, and leaves the skin smooth and velvety – my combination skin can easily tolerate it. I also really like the way it smells – there’s something vintage about the fragrance that reminds me of my mom’s skincare from when I was a kid. 5/5
4 // Tarte Sugar Rush Lip Sip Vegan Lip Oil in Fresh Pressed ($15) – Now here’s a product I thought I would enjoy but in the end wasn’t too impressed with. This lip oil turned out too sticky for my taste, it really felt more like a lip gloss than an oil. 2/5
Violet Voss Coral Pop 6 Color Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette
Violet Voss Coral Pop 6 Color Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette (swatches)
5 // Violet Voss Coral Pop 6 Color Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette ($20) – When I saw this palette I had to do a double-take: the neutrals spoke to me immediately but am I bold enough to pull off the red and the coral shades? Turns out I am, and they complement the neutrals beautifully! As with other Violet Voss powder eyeshadows, the formula didn’t disappoint – they were pigmented, easy to wear, and a dream to blend. 5/5
THE VERDICT:
I’m definitely feeling this month’s Ipsy Plus bag because I loved 4 out of 5 products! The brush set makes a wonderful addition to my collection, the moisturizer is perfect for the season, the mascara is the crazy thing I never knew I needed (def buying more btw!), and the palette made me try a bolder look which I totally rocked! Considering how much I love these four, I can forgive the gloopy mess that is Tarte Sugar Rush lip oil. Its only redeeming quality is the delicious tropical fragrance, anyway.
The value of my Ipsy October 2020 Glam Bag Plus: $173
