Ipsy Glam Bag January 2022 Unboxing & Review

The beginning of the year is always filled with hopes, resolutions, and expectations, so Ipsy decided to share some good vibes with Happy Vibes themed box, and I’m here for it! After going through some personal struggles, I could definitely use some positive energy, so I was super excited to dig into my January bag. Ipsy stylists didn’t disappoint, and I found some faves! Read on for more details.

HOW IT WORKS:

Each month as an Ipsy subscriber you will receive a new Glam Bag with a mix of 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Members can watch videos and play along with the stylists, all for only $12/month ($50+ value). Click here to check it out.

1 // First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($38 – $5.14 value) – I feel like everyone needs to have a tub of this cream in their beauty cabinet. You can use it on your face and body as a moisturizer, mask or eye cream, and it’s also one of the few products that my skin can tolerate when it’s sensitized. A little treasure from First Aid Beauty! 5/5

2 // Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Lite Primer ($32 – $4.30 value) – This primer reminds me of a similar formula from MUFE, it’s smooth and lightweight, and helps create a more even canvas for makeup. Although my skin is on a drier side now since I started using tretinoin, my old combo/oily skin would have definitely appreciated this. I think it’s a good one to try if you’re oily! 5/5

3 // DITO Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara in Black ($5.99) – I haven’t heard of this brand before, but I’m always down to trying new mascaras. this one didn’t impress me much: for being called “volume” mascara, it’s more of a lengthening one. It also didn’t stay well on my lashes and smeared along the lower lash line toward the end of the day, but at least the wand was nice and did a good job at separating the lashes. Not one I’ll be picking up in full size. 2/5

4 // Dewtube Hydrating Lip Gloss in Champagne ($20) – Very pretty shimmery lip gloss that reminds me of NARS Orgasm. Unfortunately, with all the mask wearing lately, I pretty much never use lip color products anymore. I like that the formula is not sticky though, I think it will be super cute in the summer when the shimmers sparkle in the sun. 4/5

5 // Grace & Stella Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($9) – This serum layers perfectly with my other skincare products and works with everything. I noticed a huge boost to skin hydration, especially in areas that are normally super dry – chin and around the nose – and made the task of keeping them sufficiently moisturized while on tretinoin, easier. A winner in my book, and my favorite new-to-me sample in this month’s Glam Bag! 5/5

BOTTOM LINE:

Pretty good products, aren’t they? And the bag itself is actually really cute, I plan to use it for feminine products and carry it in my purse. My favorite samples this month are the tried and trusted FAB Ultra Repair Cream which I repurchased a bajillion times, give or take, and Grace & Stella HA Serum, which has helped my tretinoin-parched skin. I wish I had a big bottle of this, it’s so good!
