Item Beauty Lash Snack in Midnight Mood: the spikey wand is perfect for defining and lengthening the lashes.

Love You First Perfect Eyeshadow Duo

IN THE BAG:

1 // Item Beauty Lash Snack in Midnight Mood ($14 – $7 value) – I never say no to trying new mascaras! This one has a stiff wand with spiky bristles that help define and lengthen each lash while simultaneously coating them with rich, black pigment. I love how dark it is, too, because sometimes “black” mascaras are actually dark gray if you look closely. This formula is very lightweight and feels almost wet during the application – I’m guessing this batch is still fresh and it will thicken over time. The mascara doesn’t add much volume, but it sure makes my lashes look neatly defined, so if that’s your thing you should check it out. 4/5

2 // Love You First Perfect Eyeshadow Duo ($10.99 for full palette – $3.66 value) – This brand was founded by two mothers of young daughters who wanted to create fun, age-appropriate “non-toxic” makeup their tweens could play with. While I don’t agree with the “non-toxic” marketing strategy, I think it’s a really cute idea to make a tween-centric makeup line. This sample duo is actually pretty nice! Both shades offer good color payoff and complement each other nicely. 4/5

3 // GLAMGLOW BRIGHTEYES™ Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream ($39 – $7.80 value) – I usually like GLAMGLOW skincare, especially their masks, but this eye cream did nothing for me. It provided some light moisture for the undereye area but I don’t think it brightened the undereye circles much, and it even stung my skin a little. Not the most pleasant experience, but as with all skincare, YMMV. 2/5

4 // Bite Beauty Outburst Longwear Lip Stain in Strawberry Frozé ($27 – $13.50 value) – Bite Beauty is known for their excellent lip products and I was stoked to see this lip stain in my Glam Bag! The neon pink color wasn’t for me, but I fell in love with the formula and already added it to my wishlist. This lip stain feels wonderful on the lips, and the tint remains even when the product comes off, making the lip color last for many hours. 5/5

5 // Banila Co Clean it Zero Pore Clarifying Cleansing Balm ($22 – $1.53 value) – The original pink cleansing balm started it all for me! I’d never tried a cleansing balm until then, and my mind was literally blown that double-cleansing can make such a huge difference. I don’t think this green balm is all that different from the original formula, they both perform pretty much the same and both are great at dissolving makeup. Hands down, this OG is one of the best k-beauty products out there! 5/5

BOTTOM LINE:

This month’s bag was “just okay”. I was reminded once again why I fell in love with double cleansing in the first place, and it was all thanks to the original pink Banila Co cleansing balm. Also, I had that GLAMGLOW eye cream on my wishlist for some time now, so this sample saved me the trouble of having to return the jar back to Sephora because I probably would have been disappointed.

The value of my Ipsy February 2021 Glam bag: $33.49
