Reflekt 1 Daily Exfoliating Face Wash Review

Minimalist beauty has been trending for a couple of years now but I feel like the movement really picked up in 2020. In this time of financial uncertainty, more and more skincare enthusiasts are opting for multi-purpose products that can help save both time and money without compromising on efficacy. Meanwhile, Reflekt’s founder Nancy Schnoll has always embraced the idea that less is more, and after spending years curating tailored skincare routines for an A-list clientele, the Milwaukee-born beauty expert launched her own brand that reflekts this notion.

Born out of the desire to help men and women achieve smooth and balanced skin with minimal effort, Reflekt currently offers just one product that will cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize. Because sometimes, one is all you need!

Reflekt 1 Daily Exfoliating Face Wash ($48) comes in a tall squeeze tube. The packaging is very minimal, almost too basic, but I kind of like that about it. You can tell that the design intentionally skips all the bells and whistles in favor of the simple, uncomplicated text on the white background. The lettering stands out but doesn’t distract. The product itself looks like a thick gel with various granules suspended in it. These little granules are made of jojoba esters and gently exfoliate the skin before dissolving in the water. The gel also contains multiple moisturizing agents, like Glycerin and Hyaluronic acid, that remain on the skin once you rinse off the rest. It’s also worth mentioning that even though I use a prescription tretinoin treatment daily, the scrubby particles didn’t irritate my skin or feel too abrasive, so I bet it can work for those with sensitive skin, too.

Ingredients: Aqua, Jojoba Esters, Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Sorbitol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Collagen Amino Acids, Panthenol, Lauryl Glucoside, Hamamelis Virginiana Water, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Phytate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Citric Acid, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Benzoic Acid, Sorbic Acid, CI 19140, CI 42090, Parfum.

Reflekt 1 Daily Exfoliating Face Wash Review

PROS: As promised, 1 Daily Exfoliating Face Wash leaves my face feel lightly moisturized which is especially nice in the summer when I don’t use a lot of products in the first place. I would still apply sunscreen during the day, of course, but it’s nice to have the option to pare down the rest of the routine to a bare minimum. I also think it will make the perfect travel companion. This large tube is not exactly travel-friendly, but if you decant it into a smaller container or buy the TSA-approved travel size tube.

CONS: These aren’t really cons but rather limitations. If you wear makeup at all, you will need an additional product to remove eye makeup at the very least, because this cleanser is not eye-friendly. Also, you shouldn’t skip sunscreen, so even though this is a 3-in-1 formula, this shouldn’t be the only skincare product in your routine. Lastly, I believe you will need an additional product to use as an eye cream because the eye area needs loving too. Just my opinion, of course!

What do you think about the idea of using a 3-in-1 skincare product? Do you like having a multi-step routine or would you rather minimize it?
