Ipsy Glam Bag December 2020 Unboxing & Review

December boxes are always my favorite because I love the holiday season! This month, Ipsy is taking us Home for the Holidays, which is the main theme of the December Glam bags this year. Since this year is so different, I wonder how you guys are celebrating this time? Our family had to cancel in-person gatherings but it doesn’t mean that the holidays are canceled. Mr. Glamorable and I transformed our house with lights, candles, and Christmas decorations just for the two of us and it’s helping keep our spirits high. Whether you’re able to go home for the holidays or are staying home, the December Ipsy bag has all the right treats!

HOW IT WORKS:

Each month as an Ipsy subscriber you will receive a new Glam Bag with a mix of 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Members can watch videos and play along with the stylists, all for only $12/month ($50+ value). Click here to check it out.

BEAU GÂCHIS IPSY Exclusive Limited-Edition Powder Brush

IN THE BAG:

1 // It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara ($25 – $13 value) – This mascara has a really fancy formula with collagen, biotin, peptides, and polymers that make the lashes look super long and thick. It’s also equipped with a uniquely shaped wand that can grab onto the wispiest of lashes making them look like falsies. If you already have volume but lack length and definition this is the mascara of your dreams! 5/5

2 // Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer ($32 – $4.57 value) – This primer is such a classic at this point, and yet I never get bored of receiving these samples. It’s a tried and true, fool-proof product that smooths the texture and mattifies the skin, prepping it for makeup. My foundation tends to last a lot longer when I use a primer, and this one is among my favorites. 5/5

3 // Murad Essential-C Cleanser ($40 – $9.23 value) – I raved about the Essential-C line on my Instagram a while back. The eye cream and the face serum were fantastic and I already finished both. The brightening effect was visible after just a few days of use, and my skin looked so much better after 3-4 weeks. As for the cleanser, as much as I like it, it’s no better than other less expensive ones out there. While it has a good, pH-balanced, non-stripping formula that helps protect the skin’s microbiome, there are other cleansers that can do the same for less. 4/5

4 // Pur~lisse BLUE LOTUS 4-IN-1 Eye Adore Serum ($48 – $24 value) – I’ve sampled many Purlisse lotus products over the years – they show up in subscription boxes pretty regularly. This is a gentle runny lotion for the delicate skin around the eyes that helps moisturize the skin and brighten the area. Unfortunately, the formula contains too much mica for my liking. I understand that sometimes brands include mica in eye products for the light-diffusing effect, but this serum has too much, almost like a highlighter. 2/5

5 // BEAU GÂCHIS IPSY Exclusive Limited-Edition Powder Brush ($15.95) – Translating roughly as “beautiful mess” in French, BEAU GÂCHIS was created by a busy mother of two who wanted to create accessible, affordable, and easy to use products for everyday life. This multi-use brush is made with soft cruelty-free synthetic bristles that can blend and diffuse blush, bronzer, and face powders. It doesn’t feel like a luxury brush but it doesn’t pretend to be one. This is your everyday workhorse that can stand up to rough handling and constant washing. 4/5

BOTTOM LINE:

This box was less exciting than the last one but it still had some new discoveries and handy goodies that will be nice to have on hand. The only product I didn’t care for was the Purlisse serum mostly because it looks like a highlighter on my skin and that’s just not what I’m looking for in my skincare – I have makeup for that.

The value of my Ipsy December 2020 Glam bag: $66.75
