Ipsy Glam Bag April 2024 Unboxing & Review

Happy Earth Month! To celebrate our one and only home, Ipsy curated a “Welcome Home” Glam Bag that encourages you to celebrate the planet and embrace your soft side. With products ranging from eco-friendly finds to earthy-toned makeup, everyone will find something they love in preparation for festival season.

HOW IT WORKS:

Each month as an Ipsy subscriber you will receive a new Glam Bag with a mix of 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Members can watch videos and play along with the stylists, all for only $13/month ($50+ value). Click here to check it out.

IN THE BAG:

1// tarte Big Ego Mascara ($27) – If you’re a fan of hourglass-shaped mascara wands, this one will be fun to try! It’s super fluffy and will deposit a lot of product on the lashes, so you can build up lots of volume and length in just a couple of swipes. Looks absolutely stunning and makes my lashes look like falsies! Unfortunately, very few mascaras can survive on my  oily lids, and this one begins smudging after a few hours. And since I can’t stop myself from blinking, I guess this formula is just not for me. 3/5

2 // Chica Beauty Mini Fiesta Eyeshadow Palette ($15) – So adorable! This palette kind of reminds me of Coastal Scents mini palettes that we used to get in Ipsy bags ages ago – those were always so fun to play with. The color story seems interesting and definitely gives off coastal vibes. The eyeshadow formula is a bit on the patchy side for the mattes, but the shimmers are beautifully pigmented. 3.5/5

3 // Skone Cosmetics Luxe Lip Liner Cosmo ($18) – So creamy and pigmented! I like the way this lip liner glides on the skin, it basically feels like a lipstick. I think it’s a bit too soft for a pencil because it’s easy to waste a lot of product while sharpening – softer pencils tend to break off more easily and sometimes clog the sharpeners. But if you don’t mind the occasional loss of a sharp tip, you’re probably going to love this one. 4/5

4 // NEOGEN Dermalogy V.Biome Advanced Eye Cream ($38) – If you aren’t familiar with this k-beauty brand yet, you’re in for a treat. This brand is known for some seriously cool products, so I was excited to try out their eye cream. It’s formulated with a special peptide complex to help improve skin firmness and elasticity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s obviously too early to tell if there are any results, but I’m really liking the gel-cream texture so far. 4.5/5

5 // Byroe Pro-Berry Pore Refining Toner ($58) – Byroe is one of the brands I discovered through Ipsy and their products always managed to impress me. This particular toner smells nice and doesn’t irritate my skin. I definitely noticed a mild pore tightening effect in the T-zone, which was nice but not sure it’s necessary in my routine. 4/5

BOTTOM LINE:

As you can see, I’m a bit lukewarm about the products in the April Ipsy bag. NEOGEN eye cream was hands down my favorite sample this month and I would probably even buy the full size just to see how it works long-term. All other products either failed to impress or didn’t work out due to my personal quirks – looking at you, tarte mascara! I really wish my lids weren’t so oily because my lashes looked editorial-level stunning immediately after the application.

What do you think about the Ipsy Glam Bag April 2024 bag? Did it live up to your expectations?
