Goodies Co. Box Review: January 2013

This is actually my second Goodies box, since I had to take a 1-month break in December. This month’s theme is called “New Year, New You” so this box was all about the healthy resolutions. There are at least five January box variations and I received the box #2.

Wild Garden Traditional Hummus & Pita Chips
I like the idea of this lunch-sized snack, the portion size is perfect and the size will fit in most purses. One box contains one serving of pita chips and a hummus dip pack. Unfortunately I didn’t like the hummus, it was too sour for my taste. The description says it contains just “chickpeas a hint of lemon” but I felt more like it contained lemon juice with a hint of chickpeas 🙁 The pita chips however were delicious and well-spiced!

Skeeter Snacks Chocolate Chunk Cookies
I have received these cookies in my Love With Food subscription a few months ago and they were really dry. Unfortunately they’re still the same, and I had a hard time eating them without milk. I actually prefer not to dip my cookies in milk but with these it was impossible.

Nature’s Bakery Whole Wheat Fig Bar
Yum! I love figs and whole wheat products, so this bar was a win-win for me. There are two servings per package, and they’re perfectly sweet to satisfy a random midday craving. Just one thing to remember, if you’re watching your calories these are loaded with them. One serving aka one tiny square in the picture above contains 110cal.

GoNola Blueberry Wave Granola
The granola was “OK”, nothing to write home about. I had it instead of my cereal in the morning and it tasted just like most other granola mixes with a hint of blueberries. Would I buy it? Probably not.

Stretch Island Fruit Razz-Mataz Berry Fruit Chews
This candy reminds me of Beech-Nut baby strawberry snacks made out of strawberry puree, except Fruit Chews has more sugar and therefore I thought it was tastier. Oh wait did I just admit that I buy baby food for myself? I guess I did. But seriously, you should try it out, it’s delicious!

Flamous Brands Spicy Falafel Chips
I feel like the spiciness ruined these perfectly delicious chips. I loved the taste of falafel but hated the black peppery aftertaste, I feel like it was too overwhelming and didn’t add much to the overal flavor. This one is a miss 🙁

Cascal Fresh Tropical
I love mango so I was delighted to see this flavor in my Taster’s box, and reminded me of ome sort of candy or bubble gum from my childhood although I still can’t remember what exactly it was. This drink is mildly carbonated which is great because I don’t like highly carbonated drinks. I feel like it ended up being my favorite product in the box, and I will buy some more very soon 🙂
