Goodies Co. Box Review: February 2013

The theme of our boxes this month is “The Perfect Pair”, which is a super cute name for a February box. This box seemed worse than the ones sent out up til now, but I still enjoyed a couple things in it.

Note: I’m hosting a giveaway for a chance to win a “Try Me Kit” of your choice from Bona Clara cosmetics. Click here and scroll all the way down to enter.

I only had one major disappointment due to the pile of peanut-based products, and I seriously hate peanuts. Oh well, win some lose some, and here’s hoping the March box is awesome 🙂

Peanut Butter & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams
I had to give these samples to my husband and mother-in-law and they both liked them. I’m not much of a peanut lover as I mentioned above, so anything and everything with peanuts I just pass on to my friends and/or family and then ask for their opinions.

Plentils Margherita Pizza
I have never tried Plentils before so this was my first time and wow I didn’t expect them to be that good! I don’t really know what the original flavor is like but the Margherita pizza one was great! I’ll check them out next time I shop for groceries 🙂

Chewy Chips Ahoy with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Another peanut product in the box which I passed on to my husband. He didn’t say much about these cookies, but he did mention that they were soft and very sweet and that his overall impression of them was “they’re okay”. He’s the kind of guy that won’t give praises to food easily, so take this with a grain of salt 🙂

Sesame Crunch Roasted Chickpea Snacks
These were pretty “meh”. I couldn’t feel much of the chickpea flavor, in fact I couldn’t taste it at all. Sesame seeds kind of overpowered the whole thing and my entire experience went downhill from there.

Snackwell Yogurt Pretzels
The pretzels were delicious, they had just enough sweetness and saltiness to make them a yummy crunchy snack. And at just 100 calories per pouch they proved to be very diet friendly!

J&D’s Cheddar Bacon Popcorn
After I popped the popcorn in the microwave my entire kitchen smelled like burnt bacon so I was actually afraid that’s what happened. The popcorn actually looked fine and edible, I threw it in a big bowl and spritzed it with some butter spray to add a little more flavor and we practically devoured the entire thing! This little bag of popcorn ended up being my absolute favorite thing in the box.

  • The best: Bacon popcorn!
  • The worst: The peanut butter, but that’s just my personal opinion, if you love PB you will probably disagree.

The verdict: Clearly the most unimpressive Goodies box to date, but I found a couple things I liked a lot so it’s all good. The bacon popcorn was delicious and the pretzels were pretty yummy, too. And of course I’ll be hunting down my local Meijer for more Plentils!

Bummer you don’t like PB. I love it and this entire box looked amazing! I’m such a snackaholic.

I know right? I wish I liked pb because it always seems like I’m missing out on a lot of yummies 🙂 I tried to build up a taste for it, but it was an unsuccessful attempt.
