I thought I was done with Glossybox at least until I get the Limited Edition Christmas box, but they lured me back in with bright packaging. I also made sure to check the spoilers first and only placed my order when I liked what I saw. The October box was focused on French products: think popular French pharmacy items, boutique finds, and lesser-known brands.

Glossybox October 2015 Review. Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorableNUXE Gentle Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals has cult following in France. Its formula contains lychee, roses, and ground walnut shells that exfoliate and nourish the skin. I don’t use physical scrubbers that often, maybe once every 10 days or so. This one felt very gentle and didn’t irritate my skin despite being fairly abrasive. It’s not a product I would go out of my way to repurchase, but I will finish up the sample tube for sure.

Very often I find solid perfumes short-lived and without much sillage, but this one stayed strong throughout the day. Glossybox sent out a wide variety of scents, and I got Artist with top notes of grapefruit, heart of cedrat, spices, and patchouli; and mossy, musky drydown. On paper it sounds almost too simple, but the bouquet is actually quite elegant.

I received a lip balm from this brand before, which I loved by the way, so I’m fully expecting to like the polish as well.

Glossybox October 2015 Review. Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorableLa Roche-Posay Redermic [R] has been among French skincare bestsellers for a while now, and rightfully so. Its potent formula contains retinol in addition to a soothing complex that reduces the burning and itching sensations, typically associated with retinoids. My skin is already used to retinol though so I didn’t experience any of that, but I bet it’s a great product to start with for someone who is just getting accustomed to this amazing time-tested ingredient.

Glossybox October 2015 Review. Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorableMy final product was De Bruyere Paris Lip Gloss in warm vampy red shade. I would describe the coverage as sheer to medium, with shiny finish and really great longevity for a gloss. There is a lot to like about this lippie, but the color just didn’t look that great on me unfortunately, although I loved every other aspect of it. Bummer!

THE VERDICT: There were several variations of the box sent out, and I feel like mine was one of the weaker options. I could have lived without the gloss, the scrub, and the polish, but the perfume and the retinol treatment were right up my alley!
