Find Your Zen With TATCHA Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum and Revitalizing Eye Mask

pr sample

This has been a very exciting season for TATCHA: they are celebrating the release of their first ever travelogue [and I have to tell you it’s absolutely gorgeous], brand new Discovery Kit as well as new additions to the Water Collection. Today I’m going to introduce you to these two new products: Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum and Luminous Deep Hydration Revitalizing Eye Mask.

If you liked Deep Hydration Lifting Mask, you’re going to love Revitalizing Eye Mask! Just like its full-face sister, these eye patches are made with coconut-derived biocellulose used to speed healing for burn victims. It creates a layer between the skin and the environment to provide high absorption of active ingredients, and ensures that nothing from the outside gets in.

The list of active ingredients boasts a blend of anti-aging all-stars such as Peony, Okinawa Red Algae, Green Tea [camellia], and Rice Bran extracts. Together, this cocktail of youth helps to nourish and moisturize the skin, while fighting off free radicals and smoothing out those fine lines and wrinkles to reveal a more youthful complexion.

The mask comes in a pouch with two leaflets, each one is wide enough to cover a large under-eye area that almost goes up to your temples. It’s important to moisturize that entire region to receive full benefits from your face masks and eye creams, because they tighten the skin and provide lifting effect, so the wider the area the more awake you will end up looking. I’m sure TATCHA knew all that, because Revitalizing Eye Mask adhered well to the skin and comfortably sat there, providing my tired eyes with some much-needed cooling and hydration. TATCHA recommends using it for 15 minutes, but I really didn’t want to part with it, so I left the leaflets on for an additional ten. Boy, what a difference it made!

On the day I tested Revitalizing Eye Mask I got maybe 3 hours of sleep total, because I kept waking up to dry cough. You all know how annoying that is! 🙁 I didn’t really need to go anywhere that day, but I figured that this will be a good opportunity to test the mask. I took the leaflets out of the pouch and applied them under my eyes as directed. After that I instantly felt a cooling sensation and could almost tell that my skin started getting plumper and more “alive”. It felt like I just splashed my face with cool water, except that feeling of splashing lasted the whole 25 minutes the mask has been on my face. If that isn’t refreshing, I don’t know what is.

When the time came to take off the mask, I hesitated because I didn’t want to part with it 🙁 [come on, I can’t be the only one who feels this way!] My under-eye area looked like I just got at least 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep. And the best part is when I peeled off the patches, all of my fine lines were gone! I don’t know how this mask deals with deep wrinkles, but it totally leveled the skin under my bottom lashes and erased those “smize” lines [for those that don’t know, smizing is a term used by Tyra Banks that means “smiling with your eyes”]. Pair that with the effect from Deep Hydration Lifting Mask, and you could fool people into thinking that you just stepped out of a SPA.

Another new product from the Water Collection is Deep Hydration Firming Serum, which offers firming and hydrating skin benefits, as you might have guessed from the name. The formula contains some fabulous ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Red Algae Extract, Rice Extract, Camellia Extract; and some really cool ones like real 24k Gold dust and Silk.

The serum comes in a gorgeous purple pump bottle, and like all TATCHA products it’s so beautiful, I really want to display it proudly on my vanity table. The contents are just as precious, because the serum feels delightfully moisturizing and soothing. If Revitalizing Eye Mask felt like constant splashes of cool water, Deep Hydration Firming Serum makes my skin feel that sensation of comfort and moisture, the kind you get right after a proper cleansing routine.

The texture is really not greasy at all, it’s more of a balmy, fast-absorbing gel with subtle golden sheen. The shimmer adds a really nice glow to the skin, and helps to mask imperfections and fine lines by reflecting the light. I believe this serum will work well for all complexions, even oily. After two weeks of use I feel like my skin is slowly being normalized. Usually my skin is combination, with oily T-zone and dry/flaky cheeks, however, after using Deep Hydration Firming Serum under my moisturizer every day I feel like my oily parts are less oily, and the dry spots are never flaky anymore.

THE VERDICT
Needless to say, but both Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum and Luminous Deep Hydration Revitalizing Eye Mask totally won me over. The eye mask is perfect to use before special events, and the serum already earned its place in my daily skincare routine. Overall, I have to admit that TATCHA products really improved my skin, and I highly recommend at least trying them out. The perfect way to do that is to buy a Discovery Kit for your skin type, but TATCHA also offers travel-sized options for some of the products.

Your photography has me drooling. Can I come over and take pictures?? Tatcha packaging is great but you make it so enticing.

    • June 17, 2014 / 9:46 am

Thank you, Marcia! I would love to come over and take a few pictures, portraits is my next favorite thing to shoot after macros 🙂 Although no matter how hard I try, my selfies always turn out sub-par… something about taking your own photos without being to control the angles is just making them all look mediocre at best =/

  14. June 12, 2014 / 10:58 pm
