Empties: April 2015

Another month passed by, so it’s time to take a look at the products I finished in the past few weeks. Just like in March, some of these empties were actually already half-finished, and a few others had a little product left inside, so now I can finally toss them.

Empties April 2015suki Exfliate Foaming Cleanser – Got addicted to this foaming scrub after receiving a small sample in one of my Birchboxes, and  immediately purchased more. It’s a pretty good scrub, but it eventually dried out and I had to revive it with olive oil – not something I want to mess with again.

ellovi Body Butter – Absolutely scrumptious treat for the body that nourishes like no other. With just a few simple ingredients that are basically edible [but let’s not test that], this is a heavenly moisturizer for those of you who live in colder climates.

D’RAN Wonder Serum – One of the best serums I received in a Memebox, and it was actually effective. It’s formulated to reduce fine lines and brighten the complexion, and that’s exactly what it did. I’m in my early 30s so my wrinkles are only now starting to form, but it’s easy to tell that a product works because the line just disappears. Purchase-worthy for sure!

Alvera Healthy Deodorant – I wrote about this deodorant in my healthy deodorant comparison post [you can read it here], so this is just another bottle of it that I finished. I love this stuff, and buy it in bulk from Vitacost.

Caudalie Divine Oil – As much as I like the idea of a dry oil, I think this one might be a bit too dry, if you know what I mean. Surely, it doesn’t leave the skin sticky like some other oils, but it also doesn’t seem to nourish it all that well. This was fun to try, but I probably won’t repurchase.

Caudalie Lip Conditioner – This is my HG lip treatment, and I am on my 5th tube of it already. It doesn’t drag on the lips, doesn’t feel sticky, and actually tastes good, if it happens to slide in my mouth accidentally. I will definitely repurchase.

MIYU Beauty Hydrate Mi & De-Stress Mi Beauty Essences – I got this set along with some Miyu tea from Birchbox as a special treat for a SPA day, and really had fun with it. These spray essences are something between a refreshing mist and a toner, and they feel so good after a relaxing bath with some tea and Dead Sea salts! Since neither the sprays nor the fancy tea are necessary, I consider them splurge items. I might be back for more in the future when I need a pick me up 😉

La Mer Moisturizing Cream – Probably one of the most talked about moisturizers in the world, no pressure. Anyway, I brought this sample jar on my trip to NYC in March and it worked pretty well to restore the skin after a day in the cold wind. It’s nice, but I wouldn’t call it groundbreaking – I got better result with less famous Korean skin care and some french pharmacy brands.

AHAVA Dead Sea Osmoter Concentrate – Another sample I brought to NYC, and after using it up I’m intrigued. I’ve only used it for maybe 5 days tops, but I feel like something’s changed in my skin, like, it’s firmer or something? I might try the full size, because the price point is pretty good for this type of product, and AHAVA often does sales, too. I think I can score a good deal on it if I wait.

L’Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream – A cult classic, this hand cream has been one of my must haves for the past 15 years. I probably have small tubes tucked away all over the house, in all of my purses, two or three in my cosmetic bag, and a couple in the car [I bet they’re kinda gross now, need to replace them]. Love these creams, and will definitely buy more.

What beauty products did you finish this month? Everything counts, even soap!
