Conscious Box (Vegan) Unboxing and Review: April 2013

I know I know, it’s already May and here I am reviewing last month’s box. Truth be told, I’m always procrastinating to write a post about something I didn’t really like much, which is the case with all three Conscious Box varieties I received in April.

Beauty Without Cruelty Daily Benefits Conditioner
This is a nice travel-sized bottle that will last me a few washes. I would have loved to get a shampoo as well, because oddly enough I like my hair products in duos. The only other products I own from this brand are a nail polish and a lip gloss (which is a fab color but tastes just awful btw!), so I’m curious to try others as well.

Naturally It’s Clean Floors
Haven’t tried the sample yet, but this is supposedly a floor cleaning concentrate that works well for tile and hardwood alike and requires no water rinsing afterward. I’ll give it a try when I get around to do my spring cleaning.

Beaumont Products Veggie Wash
I use normal plain baking soda to remove wax from fruits and veggies, and I thought this veggie wash was lacking in comparison. I felt that I needed to put in more effort and more scrubbing to get the same results. It was worth a try, but I definitely won’t be purchasing this one.

Living Intentions Gone Nuts Raw Sprouted Rosemary Garlic Pistachios & Almonds
As much as I love anything and everything with almonds, I thought the overpowering rosemary flavor ruined this yummy snack for me. Thing is, I like rosemary, too, but not in such large quantities. I forced myself to finish the bag eventually because it felt like a waste if I didn’t 🙁

Beanfields Snacks: Bean & Rice Chips Nacho
Quite possibly my favorite item in the box, these chips were delicious! I think I received them before in another subscription, and I remember loving them. They are a little spicy with a crisp nacho flavor, and I really wished I had more when I finished the bag.

Golden Path Alchemy Refine Healing Herbal Serum
At first I was like “whaaat? a serum in a spray bottle?”, but when I tried it I could tell that it’s really runny, so putting it in a spray bottle kind of makes sense. The first thing I noticed after the application is the tightening effect, I could feel my pores shrink almost instantly. Although this is supposedly a moisturizing serum, I found it a bit drying even for my combination skin.

QSpeed CoQ10 Supplement, Everly Pomegranate Maqui Berry Drink MixSeventh Generation Mandarin Facial ClothsTotLogic Body Lotion

“For the detailed description of these four products please click on each product’s name or refer to this blog post. Thank you!”

These four products are all repeats from previous two boxes. Instead of copy/pasting my thoughts about each one of them I’ll just give you a brief summary. I love wet facial wipes and use them regularly, so I’m excited to try Seventh Generation mandarin scented sample. Everly Pomegranate drink mix will be used eventually. TotLogic body lotion seems like a nice product for super sensitive skin, since it’s safe even for babies to use. CoQ10 will be given away to my dad who takes these supplements daily.

Yep, the box looked very promising, but unfortunately (or fortunately, if you’re my bank account) this subscription is just not for me 😉
