You’ve probably seen bloggers buzzing about Christie Brinkley skin care; after all, the muse and creative mind behind the brand – Christie herself – does not look a day over 40 at her 61, so she must be doing something right! I received one of her famous treatments to try – Christie Brinkley Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer and Treatment, which in a nutshell is a targeted spot treatment for areas of concern.
Here is the official product description from Christie Brinkley website:
Get camera ready in a flash! Just a touch to eye, frown and smile lines, and the formula helps eliminate the appearance of wrinkles, so you look years younger in minutes and it will last for hours!
Ingredients: Water/ Aqua/ Eau, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Copper Lysinate/Prolinate, Methylglucoside Phosphate, Pullulan, Porphyridium Cruentum Extract, Glycerin, VP/VA Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Amodimethicone, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.
I am familiar with these types of treatments, and currently already use another similar product that I’m happy with, but trying something new and potentially awesome is always fun. Never used one of these before? It’s actually quite easy:
- Cleanse, tone, and moisturize the skin as usual.
- Gently dab Christie Brinkley Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer and Treatment onto areas of concern, like visible fine lines, wrinkles.
- Wait a few minutes before applying makeup.
- Apply makeup carefully when going over the treated areas. Don’t smudge – dab, stiffle, or pat in instead to make sure the formula stays in place.
First of all, I have to comment on the outer packaging. Even though I normally just toss those, a beautifully designed wrap adds to the overall experience. Christie Brinkley packaging boxes look beautiful on the outside and on the inside, and each one is inscribed with a motivational message. Mine said “A smile is like an instant facelift, and an instant mood lift”, which is totally true! I don’t think I ever notice imperfections on a person who is smiling 🙂
The treatment comes in a pink pearly squeeze tube with a narrow nozzle. Since the formula is concentrated, it was very clever of CB to make the opening so tiny, making it hard to over apply on accident.
Straight out of the tube, Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer and Treatment looks like an off-white, slightly yellowish cream-gel, that has no noticeable scent. If anything, it smells maybe a little bitter from the ingredients inside, but I didn’t feel like there was any chemical fragrance added. The formula spreads well, and absorbs immediately, while the effect takes a couple minutes to fully develop.
So, is it any good? Well, it does in fact make the skin feel a lot firmer instantly, and plumps out fine lines for a more even surface, however, as nice as it is for shallow laugh lines and small crow’s feet, I don’t think this particular product is potent enough to make a huge difference for deep lines. I wouldn’t think of it as a big issue, if only the brand’s target demographic was a different age group.
Overall I think this is a pretty nice product and certainly makes the skin look more plump and youthful, but it’s not a miracle treatment by any means. On me the effect lasts about 6 hours [same as another similar product I currently use], which is long enough for a special event or a date night.
WHERE TO BUY: $79.95 USD for 0.33oz. Available at Christie Brinkley.

I’m always hesitant with “instant” claims.
Me, too, because usually they fall flat.
I’m supposed to be receiving this too. I’m very curious to see what it will do for my older skin. It looks and sounds great.
I look forward to hearing your perspective on it! As I mentioned in the review, I thought that this serum probably won’t do much for deeper lines, but maybe I’m wrong. I’ll stalk your blog for the deets 🙂
haha, love that!
Nice to have something like that for a special occasion, but a little pricy!
It’s very pricey, especially for a tube that small. I would consider paying that money if the effect was mindblowing, but it wasn’t, at least not for me.
Christie Brinkley knows all things. If it’ll make me age as slowly as she does, aka in reverse, I’ll drink that stuff if I have to lol
Invite me over! Time to partay, serum margaritas for all!
What I want is a product that makes me look just like Christie Brinkely! 😀
I hope I look as good when I’m her age 🙂 She’s gorgeous!
Mmm, pretty pricey for something that only kinda works–think I’ll skip it.
I definitely expected more from it.
It’s really expensive compared to what I normally spend on skincare.
It’s certainly a luxury product. I often splurge on skincare, but it has to be a really good deal. Most of my expensive purchases are from Korean brands.
Expensive for the results!
I thought the same thing, Miranda, but maybe that’s because my expectations were set too high.
Thanks for the honest review. I was curious about how well this worked because it claimed to do so much. And I agree – it’s very expensive for what the product is. Thanks for sharing!
You’re most welcome! Personally, I expected more from this serum, especially considering the price tag.
I’ve heard great things about this!
Me, too! But that’s probably why my expectations were set so high, so when the product didn’t quite live up to them it was a bit disappointing.
